Israel 'captures' Orient House, Abu Dis
By The Jerusalem Post Internet Staff

Jerusalem police closed down the PLO’s east Jerusalem Orient House headquarters and nine other Palestinian buildings, while the IDF has taken control of Palestinian military and political headquarters at Abu Dis just outside Jerusalem this morning.

The IDF also attacked the Palestinian Authority's West Bank police headquarters in Ramallah.

These moves were in direct response to yesterday’s terror attacks in Jerusalem and at Kibbutz Merav, near Beit She'an, according to an IDF statement issued a few minutes ago. The attacks were seemingly the result of a meeting of the security cabinet overnight.

The compound in Abu Dis was slated to have become the future official parliament area for a Palestinian state. The idea became a likely option during the period Ehud Barak served as prime minister. In August last year Barak considered passing Abu Dis into full Palestinian control as part of a slated redeployment of Israeli troops.

The compound was being used "illegally" by the PA, read the IDF statement. The land is in area B (under Israeli security control) and as such, the operation of Palestinian military affairs in the area is against the Hebron agreement, the IDF added.

All the major Palestinian military bodies have offices in Abu Dis, which lies just yards east of municipal Jerusalem. They include the Preventative Security Service, Military Intelligence and Force 17.

Remember when Yasser was boldly calling for Jerusalem to be the capital city of his visionary Arab Nation of Palestine??? Well, Israel, and the Israeli God of the Bible have ended the vision in one swift move. Yasser, and his Allah of the Koran must now look elsewhere for a capital city. The Orient House where Yasser made all foreign dignitaries  meet when having dealings with the Palestinian Authority is no longer Islamic. It is now Jewish, and will stay Jewish from now on I believe. The Arabs have now lost all physical claims to Jerusalem. Their tiny toehold on Jerusalem has been stomped out of existence. Jerusalem is Jewish! It awaits the soon coming Jewish King who will establish the Kingdom prayed for by so many for so long.

Neh 12:43
43Also that day they offered great sacrifices, and rejoiced, for God had made them rejoice with great joy; the women and the children also rejoiced, so that the joy of Jerusalem was heard afar off.

Ps 68:28-30
28Thy God hath commanded thy strength: strengthen, O God, that which thou hast wrought for us.

29Because of thy temple at Jerusalem shall kings bring presents unto thee.

30Rebuke the company of spearmen, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, till every one submit himself with pieces of silver: scatter thou the people that delight in war.

Ps 137:5-6
5If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning.

6If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.

9After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

10Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Palestinians to strike, intensify protests over Orient House

Leading Palestinians declared Saturday that a general strike will take place in Jerusalem on Sunday in protest of Israel's occupation of the Orient House, the PLO's unofficial headquarters in East Jerusalem. Israeli security forces seized control of the building and nine others Friday after a Palestinian suicide bomber killed 15 Israelis in a Jerusalem pizzaria Thursday lunchtime.

The Palestinians have also threatened to escalate the demonstrations in the area. The head of the Tanzim militia in the West Bank, Marwan Barghouti, said Saturday that the Palestinians would respond with severity to the closure of Orient House. "Sharon threw a bomb whose fragments hit every Arab and Muslim," Barghouti said.

I'm sure the protests will be loud, and the world press will cry foul. The folks who refuse to recognize Israel's right to Jerusalem will bemoan the Palestinian loss of those few buildings which constituted the entire claim by the Islamic Arabs to a Jerusalem capital. How strange the world is? So little protest was voiced when Yasser Arifat made his foolish claim. How sad at the numerous nations who met with the Palestinian Authority at the Orient House showing support for that preposterous claim by Arifat. Well, let them cry, and let them moan as the God of the Bible prepares a Jewish Jerusalem for His purposes. Let the fragments of Islamic furry pit themselves against the Almighty God of the Bible! Soon, a Jewish Temple will rise on the Temple Mount as prophesized in the Bible.

Egypt threatens show of armed force to aid Arafat

Uzi Mahnaimi, Tel Aviv

THE threat of a wider Middle East conflict is growing as the Egyptian government considers sending its 3rd Armoured Army into the Sinai peninsula if Israel moves into Palestinian territories.

In recent weeks Egypt has come under increased pressure from the Palestinians to help them. The Sinai option was confirmed by a senior Egyptian security source, who said the Israelis had to be deterred from "destroying" the Palestinian Authority and Yasser Arafat, its leader.

Under the terms of a 1979 peace agreement, Israel withdrew from the Sinai, which it had conquered in the six day war of 1967, while Egypt agreed not to keep substantial military forces there.

Palestinian sources said that last month Arafat reminded Egypt's president, Hosni Mubarak, that the country had other obligations: as a signatory of the Arab League's defence treaty, it had a duty to give military support to any fellow member coming under attack.

Syria gears for feared IDF attack before poll

Damascus redeploying troops and anti-aircraft missiles

By Amir Oren
Ha'aretz Correspondent

The Syrian armed forces have been on the highest state of alert since the start of the year, in anticipation of an Israeli attack against Syria in the weeks before Israel's prime ministerial election.

Syrian President Bashar Assad, with the backing of senior members of the Syrian military and intelligence, ordered defensive redeployments throughout the front, including areas deep in Syrian territory.

As part of the redeployments, the Syrians are shifting air defense systems, including surface-to-air missiles, and are reinforcing critical positions.

On several Israeli decision-making levels, including intelligence analysis and political circles, the Syrian actions are being seen as part of serious Damascus concerns that the Israeli air force will launch a large-scale strike against Syrian positions, both in Lebanon and inside Syria.

The Syrians worry that Israel will use an attack by the radical Shi'ite organization, Hezbollah, against Israel's border with Lebanon, as an excuse to launch a retaliatory attack against Syria. The "excuse" could be cross-border raid, rockets shot across the border at northern Israeli towns, bombing IDF vehicles or kidnapping Israeli Defense Forces' soldiers.

The saber rattling is expected as the Arab world watches their hold on Jerusalem end. This past week is astounding in it's implications to those who read the Bible in it's literal sense. Jerusalem became Jewish (in the most literal sense)! Many have had their eyes on this glorious city. The Pope had expected Catholics would some day have control to show they were the people of God. Other Orthodox Covenant Christians had also expected they would control Jerusalem to usher in the Second Coming of Christ to confirm their covenant relationship with Him. It was only the Islamic Arabs who ever came close to such expectations over Jerusalem as a sign of favor from Allah of the Koran. Last week, their hopes were dashed as Israel expelled them from all their governmental buildings. No Pope, no Orthodox Christian authority, and now no Islamic authority can ever again have hope of claiming Jerusalem as theirs. It is Jewish just as the literal Bible had said it must be as the God of the Bible prepares it for His future glory. All who hoped to usurp the future blessings promised God's only covenant people are at an end. Jerusalem is Jewish!!! The last real threat to Jewish sovereignty has been removed! We live in exciting days for those who read the Bible!

It is Today!

Zech 12:6-10
6In that day will I make the governors of Judah like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and they shall devour all the people round about, on the right hand and on the left: and Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place, even in Jerusalem.
7The LORD also shall save the tents of Judah first, that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem do not magnify themselves against Judah.
8In that day shall the LORD defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the LORD before them.
9And it shall come to pass in that day, that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
10And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the spirit of grace and of supplications: and they shall look upon me whom they have pierced, and they shall mourn for him, as one mourneth for his only son, and shall be in bitterness for him, as one that is in bitterness for his firstborn.
KJV

Luke 9:29-31
29And as he prayed, the fashion of his countenance was altered, and his raiment was white and glistering.

30And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

31Who appeared in glory, and spake of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

INTIFADA RAGES OUTSIDE JERUSALEM AS WELL

ICEJ NEWS - 08/10/2001
While a lone Palestinian suicide bomber in Jerusalem made the headlines on Thursday, other Palestinian terrorists were busy elsewhere waging war against Israel, with a Jewish teenager shot dead and three of her companions wounded in an ambush on Mount Gilboa last night.

Aliza Malka, 17, was killed and three other teenage girls were wounded - one of them seriously - when Palestinian terrorists opened fire at their car Thursday evening while they were heading home from Beit She'an to Kibbutz Merav, on biblical Mt. Gilboa. The driver was not hit and managed to carry on to the entrance of the kibbutz, while the gunmen fled. The ambush at close range was the latest in a series of terrorist attacks in the area, although in the previous incidents there were no casualties.

Mt. Gilboa continues to be the site of Jewish tragedy. In the pioneer days of Israel history it was not three young woman, but rather three young royal sons who were victims of Israel's enemies. The three sons of Saul Israel's first King were found among the slain who died in battle with the Philistines on Mt. Gilboa. The tragedy grew as King Saul himself was also found dead by the Philistines that day. His head was cut off as a sign of contempt by those who hated Jews. It was a one sided battle as the Philistines who had a modern army of armor plated soldiers armed with steel weapons fought a primitive people of stone age farmers armed mostly with sticks and stones (only the king and a few royal sons had armor). The victory was short lived. King David (with stone and sling who defeated the armored Goliath) did the miraculous again. He defeated the Philistines who never rose to prominence again. It was like the Indians defeating America, or the Aborigines defeating the Australians. Everyone knew it was David's God! Soon, the nations of the whole world will bow to another Jewish King of David's linage.

1 Sam 31:8-9
8And it came to pass on the morrow, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his three sons fallen in mount Gilboa.

9And they cut off his head, and stripped off his armour, and sent into the land of the Philistines round about, to publish it in the house of their idols, and among the people.
KJV

1 Sam 17:51
51Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled.
KJV

2 Sam 5:17-21
17But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.
18The Philistines also came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.
19And David inquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up to the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto David, Go up: for        I will doubtless deliver the Philistines into thine hand.
20And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there, and said, The LORD hath broken forth upon mine enemies before me, as the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.
21And there they left their images, and David and his men burned them.
KJV

1 Chron 18:11-13
11Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

12Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.

13And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.

A statement issued by the National and Islamic Forces
The Call of Challenge, Steadfastness, and Resistance

Following is the statement issued by the National and Islamic Forces on August 4, 2001; signatories are: Palestinian National Liberation Movement (Fateh); Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP); Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas); Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP); Palestinian People’s Party (PPP); Palestinian Democratic Union (FIDA); Palestinian Popular Struggle Front; Palestinian Liberation Front; Islamic Jihad Movement; Arab Liberation Front; Palestinian Arab Front; Popular Front—General Command; Islamic National Salvation Party; and Popular Liberation War Pioneers (Sa’iqa):

In the Name of God, the Merciful and the Compassionate
A statement issued by the National and Islamic Forces
No Voice higher than the Voice of the Intifada
The Call of Arab-Islamic masses rage

Our great Palestinian masses
Our glorious Arab and Islamic free masses
Our heroes of the Intifada and resistance ....

The attempts of the racist government of Sharon which aims to break the will of the Palestinian people through assassinations, siege and crimes against the holy sites, especially the Aqsa Mosque and the attempts to try and divide the Aqsa Mosque in preparation for demolishing to build the alleged temple have failed and will fail on the rock of steadfastness of the Palestinian people who stood firm with pride in face of the Zionist war machine; the Palestinian people, through their heroism and sacrifices, frustrated the racist attempts of Zionists to lay the cornerstone of the alleged temple and stressed on the Arab and Islamic nature of blessed Jerusalem. ...

How clear the issues are. All trouble in the Middle East finds as it's source that tiny piece of property in the city of Jerusalem. It all revolves around the only place that the God of the Bible declared exclusively for Himself. It is the only place He picked for His house to be built. The theology of much of Orthodox Christianity is tied to this same site. They recognize it's importance to God and the Second Coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. They know of it's critical roll in future events and blessings. It is all recorded in the Bible where the covenant people are clearly identified. The people of the Old Testament. The people God calls His children. The Jews!

Ex 3:13-15
13And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them?

14And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the , I AM hath sent me unto you.children of Israel
15And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this is my name for ever, and this is my memorial unto all generations.
KJV

Isa 29:22-30:1
22Therefore thus saith the LORD, who redeemed Abraham, concerning the house of Jacob, Jacob shall not now be ashamed, neither shall his face now wax pale.

23But when he seeth his children, the work of mine hands, in the midst of him, they shall sanctify my name, and sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and shall fear the God of Israel.

24They also that erred in spirit shall come to understanding, and they that murmured shall learn doctrine.
KJV

Mark 10:14-16
14But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

15Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

16And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

A New City

Twenty minutes south of Jerusalem, "the City of Torah in the Hills of Judea," Betar Illit, has now grown so large it is officially a city, thanks to the signature of the commander of the central region, Maj.-Gen. Yitzhak Eitan. Betar is now the third city in Judea, Samaria and Gaza (Yesha), following Ma'aleh Adumim, and Ariel. A municipality is generally reclassified as a city once it has more than 15,000 residents. The designation is more than a great honor for the city, says acting mayor Rabbi Akiva Horowitz. "Now," he explains, "the city can attract more investors, Torah institutions and residents. In addition, government ministries are more sympathetic to the needs of cities, as opposed to municipal councils."

Founded in 1990, Beitar has become a center of Israel's hareidi religious Jews, along with Bnei Brak, Jerusalem and Kiryat Sefer. Thirty percent of the men in the community study full-time in kollelim (religious seminaries for married men). Betar Illit currently has more than 18,000 residents and will be absorbing another 8,000 in the coming months. Rabbi Horowitz sees the tremendous success of the city, over the course of only ten years, as a testimony to the positive Hareidi commitment to strengthening the Jewish communities of Judea and Samaria.

God made some promises in the Bible about the cities of Judah. What joy for Bible readers to see passages thousands of years old finding a present day reality. History controlled by the God of the Bible often repeats itself. Lessons are taught over again to new generations by the omnipotent God. Who would have expected prophecies given to a generation some three thousand years ago would be repeated today? Only the Bible reader who understands God's plan and purposes would expect such consistency! The God of the Bible emerges again ever unchangeable in his dealings with the generations.

Zech 1:12
12Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years?
KJV

Ps 69:34-36
34Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.

35For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession.

36The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.
KJV

Isa 44:26
26That confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith to Jerusalem, Thou shalt be inhabited; and to the cities of Judah, Ye shall be built, and I will raise up the decayed places thereof:

IDF Planning Directorate predicts:
'Intifada will last until 2006'
By Amir Oren

The violent confrontation with the Palestinians could last until 2006 - the full extent of the period covered by the IDF's current multiyear development plan - and the conflict could deteriorate into a regional war, either as a result of escalation of the violence with the Palestinians or because of a confrontation in the north with Hezbollah and Syria. This is the view currently being finalized by the IDF General Staff as part of the army's annual strategic assessment.

The assessment, based in part on Military Intelligence assessments, also states that the Chairman of the Palestinian Authority, Yasser Arafat, can at most reach an agreement with Israel for a lull in the fighting, but even that is not likely, since Arafat believes that time is on the Palestinians' side. Furthermore, his domestic position in the face of the Hamas and other radical forces is likely to worsen, up to complete loss of control on his part.

The two "fronts" - the Israeli-Palestinian and the northern one - are "stable but fragile," with internal balances, because both sides are careful not to shatter them, the assessment says. Nonetheless, any serious incident, particularly a major terror attack, could send either front into war.

Wakf digging may have damaged southern wall of Temple Mount
By Etgar Lefkovits

JERUSALEM (August 17) - The Antiquities Authority has conducted a series of tests on the southern wall of the Temple Mount after sections of the exterior wall were found to be in danger of possible collapse, possibly due to Wakf construction work over past years at Solomon's Stables just above the site.

The authority conducted the tests over the last few months after sections of the southern wall surrounding the Temple Mount could clearly be seen protruding.

Ya'acov Sheffer, head of the Antiquities Authority's preservation department, said yesterday he could not comment, pending final results from the tests, which should be ready within two months.

Sheffer did confirm that he has already handed over the interim results of the tests to Shuka Dorfman, director-general of the authority, who also refused to comment.

But sources say the engineers have found that sections of the southern wall are in "intermediate" danger of collapse.

The reasons for the high level of secrecy regarding the tests may have to do with the fact that just above the southern wall lies Solomon's Stables, where the Wakf has carried out extensive construction work during the past five years, most significantly in 1996 when the area was converted into a mosque.

When asked whether the Wakf work has undermined the sturdiness of the southern wall, Sheffer said the question should be put to Dorfman. Sheffer did say, however, that the damage to the southern wall did not occur in the past few months.

Wakf work at Solomon's Stables was most intense in 1996.

Meanwhile, security sources have confirmed that Prime Minister Ariel Sharon rejected a proposal by Internal Security Minister Uzi Landau to order police to remove any and all heavy building tools in place on the Temple Mount, including a stone-cutting machine used by the Wakf for the past year.

The idea was raised by Landau last Thursday as part of an Israeli response after the Sbarro pizzeria bombing that day. A spokesman for Landau declined comment.

Allah must either be talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked? Whatever, when Israel made an archaeological dig under the Western Wall the Palestinians rioted with much loss of life claiming Israel was undermining the Temple Mount so the Islamic Mosques would fall down. Of course, the wall still stands with no adverse structural damage from the Israeli digs. The Arabs now have illegally dug under the Temple Mount to expand their new underground Mosque being built in Solomon's Stables. Their dig has caused great structural damage to the stability of all that sits atop the Mount. I guess Allah must have slept through the blessing those Arabs expected for their efforts on behalf of his greatness?

1 Kings 18:26-29
26And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

27And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

28And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

29And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

2 Islamic Jihad members arrested on way to Haifa suicide attack
By Amos Harel, Ha'aretz Correspondent, and Ha'aretz Service

Two Islamic Jihad members on their way to carry out a suicide bombing attack in Haifa were arrested Thursday night by the Shin Bet and Israeli police. The two were arrested next to the village of Baka al Garbaya, which is inside Israel just outside the border with the West Bank.

The two arrested are Abdal Fatah Rida Tubsi, 19, from a refugee camp next to Jenin, and Azam Nabil Said Diab, 24, from the Jenin area. Israel Radio reported that the two knew the Haifa area well because they had worked there for a number of years.

The two were arrested in possession of an explosive device weighing about ten kilograms. They intended to carry out the attack in the "City Hall" club in Haifa. Channel Two television reported Friday night that about 400 youths were in the club Thursday night.

During questioning the two said that they had been dispatched to carry out the attack by Mahmoud Nursi Tualbe, head of the Islamic Jihad military wing in Jenin. The same group is also responsible for the suicide attack at the Wall Street cafe in Kiryat Motzkin last Sunday that injured 15 Israelis.

Israel Radio reported that Israel had sent information about the terror cell to the Palestinian Authority, but that the PA did not take action to to prevent its activities.

The best laid plans of the Islamic Jihad military fall apart more often then not. Bombs  blow up in the terrorist's hands. Others get planted, but discovered before they can be detonated. Many of those that do manage to explode often do not cause the loss of life planned. The successful detonations are terrible. I do not want to minimize the pain they cause, but I have been watching the failures. It is enough for any reasonable person to question the greatness of Allah. In today's news item the terrorists were caught in the act. Yes, Israel has one of the best counter terrorist units in the world.  It is also true that the God of the Bible, the God who calls Israel His children, also has His hand in the events taking place in Israel today.

Baal and the God of the Bible could not coexist! Allah of the Koran, and God as revealed in the Bible also can't coexist. It is clear which is truly the Great One!

2 Kings 10:23-24
23And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the LORD, but the worshippers of Baal only.

24And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.

Sharon 'planned to send tanks into Bethlehem'

Uzi Mahnaimi, Gillo

[an error occurred while processing this directive]

ISRAEL'S prime minister, Ariel Sharon, wanted to send troops and tanks into the suburbs of Bethlehem last week, but was stopped from turning one of Christianity's most sacred spots into a battle zone only after a row with his top commanders, military sources claimed this weekend.

Sharon was enraged when Palestinians fired light arms on Tuesday at Gillo, a Jewish settlement built on land expropriated in 1967 from the Arabs of Beit Jalla, a suburb that lies just a mile from the centre of Bethlehem and the Church of the Nativity.

The Fatah gunmen claimed they had opened fire in response to the Israeli army's demolition of a Palestinian police station the previous night.

Sharon pushed for a lightning takeover of Beit Jalla, using tanks and paratroopers, under the codename "an eye to Zion". It was initially claimed the operation was cancelled only because of intense lobbying by America.

News of the disagreement emerged as Israeli tanks moved early yesterday into a Palestinian-controlled area in the southern Gaza Strip. One Palestinian was reported killed and 10 injured in the clashes that followed.

Aides said Sharon wanted "an eye to Zion" to be completed by Wednesday lunchtime, before his meeting with David Sutterfield, the American envoy.

Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, the defence minister, wanted something that would look good on the main evening news. But Shaul Mofaz, the army chief of staff, preferred the operation to be carried out under cover of darkness.

While the three men haggled, Yasser Arafat, the Palestinian leader, telephoned his men and told them to stop firing - knowing full well that the Israelis monitor his calls. When the message reached Ben-Eliezer and Mofaz, they agreed to abort the operation.

Oh, little town of Bethlehem. You're in the news again! It's been 2000 years since Bethlehem was center to all the God of the Bible was doing here on planet earth. All human history climaxed when the Lord Jesus Christ was born in this little insignificant town.

Gen 35:19
19And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem.
KJV

Mic 5:2
2But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
KJV

The great Jewish King David was born in Bethlehem. Ruth was his great grandmother who chose this town to begin her family with Boaz the picture of redemption in the story of Ruth. King David was but a picture of an even greater King of the Jews yet to come from God.

Matt 2:1-2
2:1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

This same Jesus is coming again! He first came as the suffering servant King to redeem sinners through His sacrifice on the cross. He is coming again as the conquering savior King of the Jews validating God's eternal redemption plan.

1 Peter 2:24-25
24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

25For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls

Rev 6:15-17
15And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

16And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

17For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Jewish High Holidays, and the Golden Calf

The High Holidays
September 18 - September 27, 2001

Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur -- a day of sweetness and a day of atonement are the culmination of a month-long process of coming back to God

The High Holiday period actually begins in Elul, the Hebrew month preceding Rosh Hashana. Elul is an important period of introspection, of clarifying life's goals, and of coming closer to God. Because when the big day of Rosh Hashana comes, and each individual stands before the Almighty to ask for another year, we'll want to know what we're asking for!

During Elul, many people perform a daily cheshbon a spiritual accounting -- where we step back and look at ourselves critically and honestly, with the intention of improving.

In order to arouse us to this task, it is the Ashkenazi custom to blow the shofar every morning after prayers during the month of Elul.

Historically, this month has great significance, because it was on the first day of Elul that Moses -- following the sin of the Golden Calf -- ascended Mount Sinai to receive a new, second set of stone tablets. Forty days later -- on the seminal Yom Kippur -- Moses returned to the people with tablets in hand, signaling a repair of the breech between the Jewish people and God.

High Holiday preparations intensify on the Saturday night before Rosh Hashana, when we recite "Slichot," a special series of prayers that includes the powerful "13 Attributes of Mercy."

It is not just the Jew who needs to take a step back. Today's Christian would do well to follow in Jewish footsteps of retrospection. The Golden Calf is dedicated to this concept of self examination for the purpose of improvement.  Jewish history reveals the truth that God's children often go astray. God has had to intervene when the process of self examination fails. The Charismatic movement as defined by the Benny Hinn's and the TBN TV style of worship has been examined over and over. No consensus of blasphemy, or false prophets has been voiced by the Christian Community as it looks at it's self each year. The acceptance of Roman Catholics as Christians rather then cultic has become commonplace under the Billy Graham Neo-Evangelicalism expressed by today's main stream Christian. The Golden Calf is alive, and only an act of God will end it's dominance of main stream Christianity. Self examination has failed to root out the deception. The time for the Christianity of today to be spued from God's mouth is close. The King of the Jews is preparing to return, and set things right.

Rev 3:15-16
15I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot,
I will spue thee out of my mouth.
KJV

2 Cor 13:5
5Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?
KJV

Rev 2:5
5Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent
KJV

1 Cor 11:28-29
28But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup.

29For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation to himself, not discerning the Lord's body.
KJV

Ps 26:2
2Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.
KJV

Ps 139:23-24
23Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
KJV

Lam 3:40
40Let us search and try our ways, and
turn again to the LORD.

Jerusalem car bomb fails to explode
By Etgar Lefkovits

JERUSALEM (August 22) - In what security officials are calling a miracle, a small bomb placed beneath a parked car on a street in downtown Jerusalem that was meant to trigger a larger bomb exploded yesterday afternoon, but caused no casualties.

The much larger 10-kg. bomb in the trunk of the car was packed with nails and screws, but failed to go off.

Jerusalem police chief Cmdr. Mickey Levy said the smaller bomb was apparently designed to lure police and rescue workers to the scene. He estimated that the terrorist had planned for the larger bomb to kill or wounding many.

The Popular Army Front Return Battalion, a largely unknown group affiliated with Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat's Fatah, claimed responsibility in faxes sent to news agencies in Beirut.

The call for Allah Akbar (god is great) is being proclaimed in whispers right now in Israel. The plans of the faithful to kill and maim Jews has been foiled again. Another failure recognized by the local authority as a miracle is right on. I would again emphasize these are not a bunch of backyard mechanics. These terrorists are the best in the world at handling  explosive bombs. They have been trained and mentored by experts. The massive failure of their plans can only be attributed to the miraculous. God is great, but not the god of the Koran. The Great God is the God of the Jews, the God of the Bible, the one and only true God of all eternity. It is not Islam that the God of the Bible ptomised He would make great - It is Israel!

Gen 46:3
3And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

Israeli Army Kills Four Palestinians -Sources

NABLUS, West Bank (Reuters) - Palestinian officials said four Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli soldiers in the early hours of Wednesday in a gunfight between the two sides near the West Bank city of Nablus.

``Four Palestinians were killed and another four were injured in a gunfight with Israelis,'' a Palestinian security source said. He said the bodies were discovered at dawn in an olive grove near the village of Beit Iba.

The governor of Palestinian-ruled Nablus, Mahmoud Aloul, gave a slightly different account. He said one of the men was a gunmen injured in an exchange of fire and ``when three other Palestinians...came to pick up the injured gunman, they were shot at and killed immediately.''

The army had no immediate comment. Israel Radio, citing military sources, said a squad of Palestinians were ambushed by soldiers when they were believed to be laying a bomb.

The violence marked a fresh bout of bloodshed in nearly 11 months of Israeli-Palestinian fighting which began with a Palestinian uprising against Israeli rule that erupted in late September.

The `Palestinian Rambo' has already killed eight settlers
The Intifada myth machine is weaving tales of victory and heroism
By Danny Rubinstein

Israelis pooh-poohed the stories of the great Palestinian victory in Jenin last week, but the Palestinian public took them very seriously. It saw the rapid Israeli withdrawal from the city's periphery as a precedent for what is likely to take place in Beit Jala, Ramallah and Gaza if Israel attempts to invade Palestinian Authority territory.

"Israel's entry into the territories will be an entry into an inferno," said Palestinian spokesmen this week, while the weekly Al Istiqlal, the organ of Islamic Jihad, published a cartoon with the caption "Jenin First," showing a Palestinian with bound hands playing soccer and kicking forcefully at his Israeli opponent.

On the streets of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, it is well known that Israel's military might is many times stronger than that of the Palestinians. No one in the territories has any doubt that if the government of Prime Minister Ariel Sharon gave the order, the Israeli army could conquer the Palestinian cities in a very short time.

But the fact is, no such order has been given. Even the Israeli right's slogan since the start of the Intifada, "Let the IDF win," is no longer heard. The Palestinian interpretation of this is that the Israeli side is very apprehensive about reconquering the territories. The fear stems from political or perhaps military reasons, it does not matter which. What is important is that the Israel Defense Forces entered Jenin for only a few hours and then retreated. This happened in the past in Beit Hanun in the northern Gaza Strip and in a few other places. Every time the IDF pulls back, it is a success from the Palestinian point of view.

Louis Jadallah, commander of the Jenin police, reported that the national forces used its few weapons to beat back the Israeli army that had invaded the city's Al Zahra quarter. In the wake of these reports, Taib Abd Al Rahim, the General Secretary of the PA Presidium, described the success in Jenin as follows: "Jenin al Kassam was a model of steadfastness, stubbornness and willingness to fight, in defeating the occupation army." The reference, of course, is to the well-known sheikh Iz a Din al Kassam - the famous Syrian-born Muslim cleric who was active in Haifa during the 1930s and is considered the harbinger of the Palestinian revolt against the Jewish yishuv [pre-State community] in Palestine and the British Mandate. He was killed in a battle against the British near Jenin in November 1935; the military wing of Hamas is named for him. ........

One such story that made a lot of noise in the territories was an interview in Arab newspapers with a young man from Samaria, a hero of the Intifada who earned the nickname "the Palestinian Rambo" after shooting dead eight settlers. He is 30, married, with four children, and until the Intifada he led a normal life. He even had connections with some settlers. A few years ago, for example, he was driving on a dirt road in Nablus when he met a group of settlers who lost their way while hiking. Even though he was rushing to work, he joined the settlers and guided them to the nearest settlement.

But everything has changed since then. After the first intifada and the Oslo Accords, he thought an agreement was near and that the settlers would leave the occupied lands so that both peoples could live in peace side by side. That did not happen, however.

A few months ago he left his family, bought an M-16 rifle with a telescopic sight and joined the Al-Aqsa Brigades of the Fatah movement. His goal: to drive the settlers from the territories. To that end, he lives underground, sleeping under the stars and wearing various disguises. Two of his comrades were recently killed by Israel, which also tried to get him. He knows his name is on Israel's hit list, and has even made flyers to be distributed after his death. His life is dedicated to attacking settlers, because about 500 Palestinians have been killed since the start of the Intifada.

"The Israelis have to know that they must pay for the pain they are causing us," "Palestinian Rambo" said. He is known for his military operations and his ability to elude his Israeli pursuers. It is important to him that people know that he does not kill for the sake of killing, but rather for the sake of the national goal - a goal that he believes the Israelis do not comprehend.

In the first months of the Al-Aqsa Intifada, Palestinian publications emphasized the number of victims and the great suffering of the Palestinians. Mohammed al-Dura, the boy who was shot and died in his father's arms at the Netzarim junction, was the symbol of that period. As the difficult times continue and the Palestinians ask whether they are receiving anything in return for their suffering, stories of heroism have begun to appear, like that of "Rambo" from the Fatah, whose activities are limited to settlers in the territories, in accordance with Fatah policy.

There are also stories of the Islamic zealots in praise of the suicide bombers that sow panic in Israeli cities and "make loathsome the lives of the Zionist enemies so that all of their places of residence in Palestine have become hell," in the words of spokesmen for Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

When Allah sleeps, the best Islam can do is make up stories of what they envision could happen if he were awake. The Rambo's of Palestinian dreamers are in reality the dead terrorists of Nablus. They are killed before ever getting their vicious plan of hate filled wrath into action. They go into the presents of their Allah even bigger fools then they were in life. No amount of distortion can ever make them Rambo figures. They not only disgraced themselves, but also their families. They shot themselves in the foot is the best war story they will ever have. Their families have lost their provider for nothing. The greatness of Allah will have to wait for another day.

Job 5:2-4
2For wrath killeth the foolish man, and envy slayeth the silly one.

3I have seen the foolish taking root: but suddenly I cursed his habitation.

4His children are far from safety, and they are crushed in the gate, neither is there any to deliver them.

Russia close to major arms deals with Iran, Libya

SPECIAL TO WORLD TRIBUNE.COM

Monday, August 27, 2001

MOSCOW — Russia is in the final stages of concluding major weapons agreements with both Iran and Libya.

Russian officials said both countries have drafted an accord for the sale of weapons to Iran, Middle East Newsline reported. The accord is being examined by the government in Moscow for final approval.

Russia's defense industry sets sights on Libya

Russian Deputy Defense Minister Mikhail Dmitriev, in remarks reported by the Interfax news agency, said Moscow had completed weapons agreements with other countries, including Libya. He said he expects the agreement to be soon signed by both countries.

The deputy minister said he expects the accord to be approved by Moscow despite opposition from the United States. Dmitriev did not detail the weapons that were being offered in the contract. But he said Iran needs both upgrades of its weaponry as well as defensive systems.

"Iran is our traditional partner in all domains, including military technology," Dmitriev said.

Officials said Russia began negotiations with Iran in March during the visit of Iranian President Mohammed Khatami to Moscow. This was followed by a visit by Iranian Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani to Russia.

It is no surprise that Iran, Libya, and Russia should all be in the news today. The Bible has long predicted that in the latter days there is going to be an invasion of Israel by these very same nations.  It is clear this will be an Islamic Invasion from the North, East, and South. The Islamic Russians of the North are the princes of the Gog who will lead this great Jihad into Israel. They will be joined by the Islamic Persians of the East which are primarily Iran and Iraq. Out of the South will come Libya and Cush all part of the Islamic hordes of North Africa.  Almost 2,500 years ago the Prophet Ezekiel saw the return of Israel to the promised land. He saw a near view which happened not long after his writing when Israel returned the first time as recorded in Ezra/ Nehemiah. Ezekiel also saw a far view of a second return in the latter days (our present day). In his far view of our days he saw the great invasion which he wrote about in Ezekiel 38 & 39. Today, the latter days of the second return of Israel to the promised land, this great Jihad of Ezekiel is taking form. Soon all these events will overtake a complacent world as God prepares this apathetic generation for the second coming of Christ. The Christian community is almost silent for fear of offending the covenant based denominations who have usurped all the promises God gave to Israel. Today's news exposes the lies of much of Christianity. The false theology that Christianity has replaced the Jews has become like a fish out of water. It flops around as each passing day exposes the reality that the Jew is back, and it is the Jew not the Christian being prepared for the future glory of Jerusalem and the land!

Ezek 38:16
16And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

"Jihadi" Website, Under Investigation by RCMP, Moves To the USA

(IsraelNationalNews.com) According to a by-lined article by Stewart Bell of the National Post, a website used by Mid-Eastern radicals, and reportedly under investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, has moved its registration from Canada to an address in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The website in question, islamway.com, was allegedly being used to recruit potential volunteers for terrorist training at camps run by mujahedeen guerrillas in Afghanistan. Additionally, posts made to website also openly issue a call for "jihad" or "holy war" and advocate violence against Israel and the United States. The Web site denies responsibility for the postings.

The terrorists attacking Israel are the best trained bomb makers the world has ever known. They are recruiting only the best over such mediums as the internet. Whenever a truly dedicated, smart, and skilled candidate filled with hate for Israel is found, he or she is then trained by the best terrorist organization in the world. It must be frustrating to the Islamic world that so many of their best trained terrorists are being blown up as they prepare their bombs? The Islamic way is to hate Israel, and terrorize the Jew to the fullest. There is no doubt there is a hand of divine origin that continually frustrates the best of Islam. Allah can only be ashamed of the best Islam puts forth for his greatness!

Population Grows!

Settler population up by 17,000 since intifada began
By Margot Dudkevitch

JERUSALEM (August 28) - Despite almost daily terror attacks, the Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria, and Gaza is in the midst of absorbing 296 new families in communities throughout the West Bank and Gaza Strip, as part of a campaign to strengthen communities by attracting newcomers.

Council chairman Benny Kashriel told reporters at a press conference at the Hyatt Hotel in Jerusalem that residents have paid a heavy price over the past 11 months, with 45 being murdered and hundreds wounded, leaving 112 orphans. Despite this, he said, the council has provided a true Zionist response, which can be seen in the increased population.

The council said the settler population has grown by 17,000 in the past year and now stands at 227,000, the result of natural growth and the absorption of new families. Sixteen families have moved to Har Bracha, 10 to Negohot, 21 to Ofra, 100 to Adam, 59 to Beit El, 15 to Otniel, 12 to Sansaneh, 28 to Alon Shvut, and 14 to Kidar. In the Gaza Strip, seven families have moved to Morag, six to Kfar Darom, and eight to Netzarim.

Today Jordan Valley residents plan to celebrate the inauguration of Kibbutz Beit Ha'arava and the completion of two new neighborhoods in other communities in the presence of Construction and Housing Minister Natan Sharansky, and government and military officials. Jordan Valley Regional Council spokeswoman Orit Artziely said families are already moving into their new homes, located near the Nahal outpost established in 1980.

Out goes the old theologies and philosophies, and in goes the reality that the God of the Bible is the God of the Jew. In the midst of great opposition by the world religions such as  Islam and Christianity; In the midst of great opposition by the world governments in general; Israel grows!  The God of the Bible is not favoring Islam or Christianity. His favor is clearly aimed at the Jew. Jerusalem is never going to be anything other then a Jewish controlled city in today's reality. All future blessings associated with Jerusalem, and the Holy Land are clearly going to be Jewish. All Moslem claims are fading fast. All false theology of some great Christian Jerusalem promoted by Catholicism, Covenant Christianity, and most of main stream Christianity has faded in view of the present reality. An Anti-Christ will lead those who can't break away from the falsehoods they preach. They will have to fight Israel for control over Jerusalem, the promised land, and the future favor of God. This is exactly what the Bible says will happen as Apostate Christianity flourishes in the latter days! The hate of Islam for the Jews will be a little thing once the Anti-Christ takes control of Apostate Christianity. Christianity is through! The real Christians are about to be raptured. We must step aside so God can send His Messiah to the Jews again! This time they will not reject Him.

Zech 13:6
6And one shall say unto him, What are these wounds in thine hands? Then he shall answer, Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.
KJV

Zech 13:8-9
8And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.

9And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The LORD is my God.
KJV

Zech 14:1-4
14:1Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.

2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

Israeli trucker shot dead while taking fuel to West Bank village
By Baruch Kra and Aliza Arbeli

Oleg Sotnikov, a 34 year old from Ashdod, was killed yesterday morning in the Samaria section of the West Bank. The slain Israeli truck driver was en route to deliver gas to residents of a local Palestinian village. Investigators established that Sotnikov had left his truck when he was attacked by several gun-firing assailants.

Two Palestinian groups - "the Al Aqsa dead," and "forces of Islamic resistance" - claimed responsibility for the attack.

Investigators believe that Sotnikov, a Dor Energy company worker, identified armed terrorists in Kutchin, a West Bank Area B village (under Israeli security control, and PA civil control), and left his truck, hoping to flee by foot to the nearby main highway.

The Palestinian assailants caught up with the trucker, gunning him down with dozens of bullets, sources said. The attackers fled to PA controlled areas on the West Bank after the shooting.

Even humanitarian Jews are the targets of hate. The hate against Jews is without doubt going to be the downfall of Islam. "The Al Aqsa Dead" is an Islamic organization that reminds all of the fact that the Temple Mount drives the hate of the Palestinians, and the hate of greater Islam against the Jew. It is the God of the Jews, the God of the Bible Who makes the Temple Mount important. All future blessings for the Jew, and the world will center around the future of the Temple Mount. God's plan is that the Mount be Jewish, and this drives the hate of Islam to murder even the humanitarian if he happen to be Jewish. A Jewish Temple Mount is never going to be acceptable to Islam even if it is the decree of the Almighty! It is going to be why the Last Jihad of Ezekiel 38 & 39 predicts the end of Islam! The hate of Islam is going to be it's demise. God will gain the attention of the world as He opens the Temple Mount for a Jewish Third Temple!

Ex 20:5-6
5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;

6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
KJV

Num 10:35-11:1
35And it came to pass, when the ark set forward, that Moses said, Rise up, LORD, and let thine enemies be scattered; and let them that hate thee flee before thee.

36And when it rested, he said, Return, O LORD, unto the many thousands of Israel.

Assassinated PFLP head authorized kindergarten attacks
By Amir Oren, Ha'aretz

Security sources revealed late Thursday night that the Shin Bet security service has uncovered a plan to carry out a wave of attacks on kindergartens and schools to coincide with the start of the new school year that was authorized by the assassinated Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine secretary-general Mustafa Zabri.

According to the reports, Zabri (Abu Ali Mustafa) had marked out on maps the locations for planting car bombs.

Israel killed Zabri in a missile attack on his Ramallah office on Monday.

The targeting of Zabri had been authorized by the inner cabinet, led by Prime Minister Ariel Sharon, several weeks before his killing after information was received from the Shin Bet that implicated Zabri in PFLP terrorist operations.

Political leaders gave the IDF the go-ahead for the operation following a fatal shooting attack on the road from Jerusalem to Modi'in and an attack on an IDF outpost in the Gaza Strip that left three soldiers dead.

The heroes of the Palestinians are a sorry lot. Those whom the world would normally condemn like the Oklahoma City bomber (who knowingly blew up the Federal Building where a day care center was in operation) are the kind that the Palestinians call heroes. I suppose they would not give Timothy McVey much hero status in view of world opinion, but had he blew up a Jewish kindergarten he would be a martyred hero for as long as  the Palestinians exist. It remains this attitude of blind hate that will be the demise of the Palestinian Arabs along with the rest of supporting Islam. It is not world justice that will take this action, but rather the God of the Bible who will manifest His indignation at such hatred aimed at His children. The end is coming soon for all those who have no regard for the  targeting of  kindergarteners. Haman is clearly a hero for the Palestinians. History is on the side of the little children of Israel.

Est 3:13
13And the letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little children and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.
KJV

Est 8:5-8
5And said, If it please the king, and if I have found favour in his sight, and the thing seem right before the king, and I be pleasing in his eyes, let it be written to reverse the letters devised by Haman the son of Hammedatha the Agagite, which he wrote to destroy the Jews which are in all the king's provinces:

6For how can I endure to see the evil that shall come unto my people? or how can I endure to see the destruction of my kindred?

7Then the king Ahasuerus said unto Esther the queen and to Mordecai the Jew, Behold, I have given Esther the house of Haman, and him they have hanged upon the gallows, because he laid his hand upon the Jews.

8Write ye also for the Jews, as it liketh you, in the king's name, and seal it with the king's ring: for the writing which is written in the king's name, and sealed with the king's ring, may no man reverse.
KJV
