There is a place the God of the Bible has claimed for Himself. It is the place where He told Solomon and Zadok the High Priest to build His house. The First Jewish Temple! It became a curse after some 500 years because the worship that Zadok had initiated became corrupt. The Temple was destroyed, and Israel lost their land.  Seventy years later Ezra/Nehemiah returned to the land, and Zerubbabel the governor and Joshua the High Priest built and established proper worship in the Second Jewish Temple that was built on this place. It lasted some 400 years until the worship that Joshua had established became corrupted. The Pharisees and Sadducees so corrupted Jewish worship that the true meaning of the Temple and the God of the Bible was lost. Jesus Christ predicted it's destruction saying not one stone would be left standing upon another. The Second Jewish Temple was destroyed, and the Jews again were cast from the land. Today the Jews are back. This place is again in the news! It has a past Biblical history, and a future Biblical history.

The present history of this place as of September 2000 is as follows:

ISRAEL, PA STILL HAGGLING OVER JERUSALEM

The seventh anniversary of the Oslo peace process was greeted with little fanfare on Wednesday, as Israel and the Palestinians were too absorbed with finding a way around the current negotiating impasse over the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, a sobering dispute that could spark a wider Islamic jihad against the Jewish state…..

By the narrowest of margins, the PLO's Central Council voted for the delay so as not to be blamed by the international community for ditching the Oslo process right when the parties are closer than ever to sealing a landmark permanent-status agreement. The decision gives peace talks up to another two months of breathing space, while at the same time orders the Palestinian Authority to proceed with preparing the trappings of statehood.

But the stand-off over the Temple Mount is proving to be a potential deal-breaker, as was confirmed on Tuesday by PA minister Abed Rabbo. "Trying to touch or to play with the issue of Al Aqsa will lead to a religious war and replace attempts to reach peace and reconciliation with hatred and religious war which would last for generations," warned Rabbo. "Any attempt to touch even a stone in the Aqsa mosque will provoke more than a billion Muslims all over the world."

*****************************

In a speech at the opening of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, the Palestinian observer reiterated their demands for the right of return, for Israel to withdraw to the pre-June 1967 borders, and for Islamic control over the Temple Mount. The hard line mirrored comments by Arafat's top deputy, Mahmoud Abbas (Abu Mazen), who ruled out any compromise over
Jerusalem and its holy sites. In a TV interview, he insisted, "We cannot accept UN sovereignty in Jerusalem... the sovereignty can only be Palestinian. There is no room for shared sovereignty and not even for God's sovereignty."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

If this represents the heart of the Palestinian people, and the wider Islamic world then there is a conflict between the God of the Bible and them (all one billion of them). There is just as great a conflict between the God of the Bible and the present state of Israel. There is a conflict with the God of the Bible and Apostate Christianity including the Pope and all the mainstream denominations, cults, and liberalized Baptists and other independents. There is a conflict with the God of the Bible and the gentile nations! It all centers in This Place!

I want to look at how this conflict will be settled which is the heart of Isaiah 2:1-5. I want to open the eyes of this generation because the times are quickly upon us.

The Lord Jesus chastened a generation for not knowing the greatness of the day they lived.

Matt 16:2-3

2He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.

3And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?

My friend, open your eyes! Look to This Place to understand what God is about to do! A new dispensation is coming upon us. The Jews are back in the land! The Third Jewish Temple is the next event in God's plan for Israel. Open your eyes! The rapture must be soon because the building of the Third Jewish Temple is the next event on God's addenda for Israel!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

 Isa 2:1-5

2:1the word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

2And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

3And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.

4And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

God has declared the mountain of the LORD's house, the Temple Mount is His. It is not the Palestinian's, it is not the secularized Jew's, it is not Apostate Christianity's, and it certainly is not the Nation's! It is His! And, from This Place will the world for the first time know peace! It is peace with a price. The price is righteousness! God will rebuke! A Rod of Iron will enforce God's righteousness on the entire planet. All governments, all judicial systems will be subject to approval from This Place. A world government, a world religion with teeth will rule for 1000 years from This Place!

I. THE HOLY PLACE

There is one place, and only one place that God has claimed for Himself on planet earth.

It is where He told His children to build His house.

It is a very specific place, and it will be center to everything God will do at the end times!

Isa 2:2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.

It is the Mountain of the LORD's House!

It is the place where the First Jewish Temple, then the Second Jewish Temple, and soon a Third Jewish Temple will be built!

It is the place which the God of the Bible has chosen to call His own!

Solomon prepared to build First Jewish Temple. Read his words as the LORD appeared to him declaring This Place as the site!

2 Chron 7:12-14

12And the LORD appeared to Solomon by night, and said unto him, I have heard thy prayer, and have chosen this place to myself for an house of sacrifice.

"have chosen - this place - to myself"

This place, and only this place was to be forever known as God's house "an house of sacrifice"

This Place would forever be associated with the greatest sacrifice of all time;

1 Peter 2:22-24

22Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

23Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

24Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

The Lord Jesus Christ was crucified on this mountain! The mountain on which the city of Jerusalem is built! It is all part of This Place! The same mountain where the house of sacrifice was built. The First Jewish Temple!

II. THE HISTORY OF THIS PLACE

(The Past History of This Place)

This Place has a number of names - Salem, Mount Moriah, Jehovah-Jirea, Zion, Jerusalem.

The first time This Place appears in the Bible.

Salem - Home of Melchisedec - Genesis 14

Abraham brings back the spoils of war. He is blessed, and he tithes to this mysterious King of Salem. Also the priest of the most high God!

Gen 14:18-20

18And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.

19And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:

20And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.

KJV

It is in Hebrews that the mystery of Melchisedec is revealed. Salem (peace), and the Lord Jesus Christ are now tied together. Another like Melchisedec will be priest and king of Salem (peace). This one will also be a prophet tying all three holy offices into one person!

Heb 7:1-3

7:1For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

2To whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all; first being by interpretation King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace;

3Without father, without mother, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God; abideth a priest continually.

Heb 7:21-22

21(b) … The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec:)

22By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the surety of the peace that will come from This Place. This city of Salem that was built on the mountain who's name is the next reference in the Bible to This Place!

Called Mount Moriah - Genesis 22

Jehovah-Jirea (The Lord will provide).

Abraham is given the most perplexing command ever given by the God of the Bible. He was to take his only son Isaac to This Place, and sacrifice him.

Gen 22:2-3

2And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.

3And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son, and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went unto the place of which God had told him.

"went unto - the place - of which God had told him"

The place where he was to sacrifice his son. The mountain called Moriah!

God could not bear to let Abraham do what He Himself as a father did do. God provided a substitute for Abraham just as his hand was raised with the knife ready to kill his son for sacrifice! God did not intervene when His own Son Jesus was sacrificed on Calvary.

Gen 22:7-14

7And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering?

8And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together.

9And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.

10And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son.

11And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I.

12And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me.

13And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son.

14And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.
KJV

(See an old CIA Map of the City of Jerusalem.)

This Place, this mountain (Mount Moriah),  needs to be described. Looked upon from the South it is truly a mountain with two peaks and a saddle between. The main peak is broad with a plateau at it's summit. The lesser peak to the east is slightly higher, but much smaller then the main peak. The lesser peak is called the Mount of Olives, or Mt. Scopus. The saddle between the two peaks is easily transversable with the Kidron Valley running through the lowest part of the saddle. The grade going up to Mount Moriah from the South and West is a gentle plain all the way to the top. Much of modern Jerusalem is built on these gentle slopes. It is not till the top is reached that the mountain designation becomes significantly apparent. The North side drops off abruptly into the valley of Gahanna (the old Jordan Road), and then stretches out into the Judean wilderness (looks much like the Bad Lands of South Dakota). An aerial view of the summit reveals a spur on the North side of the plateau. This spur is the site upon which the Jebusite city of Jerusalem was built in David's day. It was ~1000 years after the events of Salem, Abraham, and Melchisedec that David captured the city now called Jeru-salem (the city of peace), and moved the Capital from Hebron to This Place! Today the plateau has two structures, the Mosque of Omar the larger golden domed edifice, and the smaller Al Aqsa silver domed mosque. To the South of the Temple Mount upon which these two structures stand the city of Jerusalem stretches out down the slop. To the East is the old city wall with it's East Gate, the Golden Gate, the Beautiful Gate, all bricked closed by the Islamic Ottoman Turks long ago when they learned the Jewish Messiah was going to come from the East, and enter the Temple Mount. They even put a Moslem cemetery right in front of the bricked up East Gate knowing no kosher Jew would dare step on a grave. Beyond the gate are the gentle slops of the Kidron saddle between the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives. To the North the Temple Mount drops fast into Gahanna. A new archaeological park now exists on the steep slop to the North. A little West, and the spur is there with some of the oldest buildings in all of Jerusalem. The two story building where the Last Supper took place still stands with the most probable site of David's tomb under it's foundation. A fact unknown to those in Christ's day, but certainly known to Him as He chose this building of all buildings to eat the last passover meal before His crucifixion. It is also the same building where on the Day of Pentecost the Church dispensation officially started. To the West is the Western Wall, the Wailing Wall - most holy place for the Jews. It was not until 1967 that the Jews were allowed access. Before that, the Jordanian Palestinians used it as a garbage dump. After the 6 day war Israel cleared out the refuge, and now Jews pray with their heads pressed to the wall which represents to them all the glory associated to This Place!

Another thing (an object) is coming into play about This Place, and the First Jewish Temple!

A merging which begins from the days of Mosses.

God made His appearance to Israel at the Tabernacle in the wilderness. It was a portable sanctuary which was carried by the priests as Israel traveled through the wilderness. It represented the physical manifestation of the infinite God of the Bible. It was the object to which God chose to manifest His glory here on earth.

Mosses was given explicit instructions on how to build the ark. It was the centerpiece of the portable sanctuary, the Tabernacle of the wilderness!

Exodus 25

21And thou shalt put the mercy seat above upon the ark; and in the ark thou shalt put the testimony that I shall give thee. 22And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.

God told Mosses that He would meet with him at this object. He would commune from what would be called the mercy seat between two cherubims which were part of the top of the ark. When Mosses finished the work of building the ark exactly as God had told him, the Lord manifested Himself in physical form.

Ex 40:33-38

33And he reared up the court round about the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the hanging of the court gate. So Moses finished the work.

34Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

35And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle.

The Tabernacle arrived in the promised land carried by the priests during the days of Joshua, and was first placed in the city of Shiloh.

It quickly became a curse to Shiloh and everywhere it was placed (because the people were disrespectful and wicked).

Jeremiah tells us of this first place where God dwelt in Israel.

  Jeremiah 7

12But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the       wickedness of my people Israel.

The great wickedness of Israel at Shiloh was the attempt to turn the mercy seat into a shrine - a mystical instrument that man could use to his benefit. It was an attempt to manipulate God. The city of Shiloh became a curse as a result.

Israel took the Ark unto the field of battle. (should have repented and submitted to God).

The Ark was captured by the Philistines. They first took the Ark to Ashdod where it became a curse, and the people said get it out of here! It then went to Gath with the same results. The Philistines of Gath sent it on to the Philistines of Ekron, and so it traveled throughout the great cities of the Philistines - all suffered a most humiliating and disgusting malady.

1 Sam 5:9-11

9And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of the LORD was against the city with a very great       destruction: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great, and they had emerods in their secret parts.

1 Sam 6:4

4Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.

KJV

1 Sam 6:11-12

11And they laid the ark of the LORD upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods.

12And the kine took the straight way to the way of Beth-shemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Beth-shemesh.

Imagine foreign dignitaries looking over the victory trophies of Israel? What's this? Are these five golden statue type images of ....uh!!! It sure looks like a .... uh!!!  I just can't put it into words! I guess your imagination must fill in the blanks.

Shiloh was cursed; the Philistine cities were cursed. Everyone said get it out of here! Eventually, the Ark was put on an ox cart with the golden emerods, and a coffer with golden mice. The whole thing was pointed toward Israel, and the oxen given a prod to move on down the road.

Shiloh was devastated because they treated the Ark with disrespect. Now, Beth-shemesh was devastated because they looked on the Ark like some curio instead of giving it due honor. This object became a curse to Beth-shemesh, and they said after the initial partying - get it out of here!

1 Sam 6:19-7:1

19And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the LORD, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the LORD had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.

20And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy LORD God? and to whom shall he go up from us?

21And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath-jearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the LORD; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.

1 Samuel 7

7:1And the men of Kirjath-jearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.
KJV

It was taken to a private home the house of Abinadab. Specifically to Eleazar his son whom I would assume was a man who loved God, and kept the statutes of the law. He was to keep charge of the Ark of the LORD.

David became King soon after these events. Hebron was his First Capital, but quickly he went to This Place to make it the Capital of all Israel.. The Jebusite Canaanites built their city on that spur on the top of Mount Moriah. They either put the blind and lame (and I would assume the women and children) in front of the troops with the arrows and javelins, or this is a reference to their own gods whom David declared as blind and lame I do not know. Whatever, they thought they were safe. It didn't work.

2 Sam 5:5-7

5In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months: and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

6And the king and his men went to Jerusalem unto the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land: which spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither.

7Nevertheless David took the strong hold of Zion: the same is the city of David.

Zion - (city of David) also called Ophel. It is the spur on the top of Mount Moriah in mountain lingo.

Ps 76:2
In Salem also is his tabernacle, and his dwelling place in Zion.
KJV

Jerusalem - Salem has a new name!

Beginning in: 2 Samual 5

David was intent on bringing the Tabernacle to Zion! To this holy mountain! He sent his friend Uzzah to fetch it, and bring it post hast to the new Capital. Uzzah, not consulting anyone loaded it up like so much cartage on a cart, and off he went.

From house of Abinadab

2 Sam 6:6-7

6And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.

7And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

David was devastated! The Ark was a curse again!

2 Sam 6:9-11

9And David was afraid of the LORD that day, and said, How shall the ark of the LORD come to me?

10So David would not remove the ark of the LORD unto him into the city of David: but David carried it aside into the house of Obed-edom the Gittite

11And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months: and the LORD blessed Obed-edom, and all his household.

Now it became a blessing! David's hopes improved. There was a right way to treat the Ark, and there was the blessings of God that come with proper respect. There are blessings that come by looking to the Bible for correct guidance. This time they sacrificed, they bore the Ark rather then loading it on a cart. The priests (Zadok in particular) carried it respectfully covered as the Bible has taught.

2 Sam 6:13-19
13 And it was so, that when they that bare the ark of the LORD had gone six paces, he sacrificed oxen and fatlings.

14 And David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.

15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 And as the ark of the LORD came into the city of David, Michal Saul's daughter looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before the LORD; and she despised him in her heart.

17 And they brought in the ark of the LORD, and set it in his place, in the midst of the tabernacle that David had pitched for it: and David offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

18 And as soon as David had made an end of offering burnt offerings and peace offerings, he blessed the people in the name of the LORD of hosts.

19 And he dealt among all the people, even among the whole multitude of Israel, as well to the women as men, to every one a cake of bread, and a good piece of flesh, and a flagon of wine. So all the people departed every one to his house.
KJV

2 Sam 7:1-2

7:1And it came to pass, when the king sat in his house, and the LORD had given him rest round about from all his enemies;

2That the king said unto Nathan the prophet, See now, I dwell in an house of cedar, but the ark of God dwelleth within curtains.

God spoke to Nathan about this issue, and then Nathan repeated to David what God had said.

2 Sam 7:12-13

12And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.

13He shall build an house for my name, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom for ever.

2 Sam 7:16,17

16And thine house and thy kingdom shall be established for ever before thee: thy throne shall be established for ever.

17According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

David would not be the builder of the First Jewish Temple. God gave him much of the plans, but it was his son Solomon who would be the builder.  David taught Solomon all of what God had instructed him about This Place! Not only was the Temple to be built on This Place, but the Kingdom of David was to be established forever from This Place!

2 Chron 3:1

3:1Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the LORD appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

David numbered the people while at Jerusalem in defiance of God's instructions. God gave him 3 choices of punishment. David took a 3 day plague. After the first day, it was obvious the entire city would be dead. God spoke to David that first night, and David repented. The spot where the curse stopped was clearly identified.

1 Chron 21:15-1

15And God sent an angel unto Jerusalem to destroy it: and as he was destroying, the LORD beheld, and he repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed, It is enough, stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD stood by the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

16And David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of the LORD stand between the earth and the heaven, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders of Israel, who were clothed in sackcloth, fell upon their faces.

17And David said unto God, Is it not I that commanded the people to be numbered? even I it is that have sinned and done evil indeed; but as for these sheep, what have they done? let thine hand, I pray thee, O LORD my God, be on me, and on my father's house; but not on thy people, that they should be plagued.

18Then the angel of the LORD commanded Gad to say to David, that David should go up, and set up an altar unto the LORD in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.

19And David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spake in the name of the LORD.
KJV

This Place, this very spot, is identified again as the place for God's house!

There is Something that was well known about building a house for God!

It was well known to all that God can't be confined to one place! He is Spirit. He is too infinite!

2 Chron 6

17Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David. 18But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

God could not be contained to the mercy seat in the Tabernacle, and God certainly would never be contained within the walls of the First Jewish Temple. It was, however, to be the place where God (who has no limits) would manifest a physical presents.

Solomon followed his father's instructions, and built the First Jewish Temple on This Place! He then merged the Tabernacle of Mosses with this First Jewish Temple.

2 Chron 6:11

11And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the LORD, that he made with the children of Israel.

2 Chron 7:1-2

1Now when Solomon had made an end of praying, the fire came down from heaven, and consumed the burnt offering and the sacrifices; and the glory of the LORD filled the house.

2And the priests could not enter into the house of the LORD, because the glory of the LORD had filled the LORD's house.

Tabernacle and Temple have come together! At This Place!

Another person critical to events of the day is the High Priest Zadok!

It was not enough to build the Temple which had to be done exactly as God prescribed (kosher), but the worship within the Temple, proper acceptable sacrifice,  was of equal (kosher) importance! Zadok of the Aaronic Priesthood was the High Priest at this time. He was High Priest during David's reign, and also into the beginning of Solomon's reign. He was the one who carried the Ark with his sons and family, and as a result blessings came after every curse. He did things correctly. He did things according to the Bible. He was charged with the proper worship that would take place within the First Jewish Temple.

When the worship deteriorated, and sacrifice lost it's meaning in the Temple over the next 500 years, God removed His presents. The blessings left, and only the curse remained. Ezekiel is the prophet of the last days of the First Jewish Temple. He was a captive in Babylon where the first Jews were exiled as God began using Nebuchadnezzar as His rebuking agent. God took Ezekiel by the lock of his hair from Babylon to Jerusalem, and into the Temple to witness why this First Jewish Temple was going to be destroyed. The first thing he saw was an idol set up on the Temple Mount (the image of jealousy). Then he saw worse!

Ezek 8:3

3And he put forth the form of an hand, and took me by a lock of mine head; and the spirit lifted me up between the earth and the heaven, and brought me in the visions of God to Jerusalem, to the door of the inner gate that looketh toward the north; where was the seat of the image of jealousy, which provoketh to jealousy.

Ezek 8:10

10So I went in and saw; and behold every form of creeping things, and abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, pourtrayed upon the wall round about.

Ezek 9:3(a)

And the glory of the God of Israel was gone up from the cherub, whereupon he was, to the threshold of the house. ….

Ezekiel watched as Glory of God moved from the mercy seat to the threshold of the Temple, to the inner then outer courts, then onto the temple wall and the East Gate, then on across the saddle of the Kidron valley to the mount of olives (the highest point on Mount Moriah), then up to heaven!

Ezek 10:3-5

3Now the cherubims stood on the right side of the house, when the man went in; and the cloud filled the inner court.

4Then the glory of the LORD went up from the cherub, and stood over the threshold of the house; and the house was filled with the cloud, and the court was full of the brightness of the LORD's glory.

5And the sound of the cherubims' wings was heard even to the outer court, as the voice of the Almighty God when he speaketh.
KJV

Ezek 10:18-19

18Then the glory of the LORD departed from off the threshold of the house, and stood over the cherubims.

19And the cherubims lifted up their wings, and mounted up from the earth in my sight: when they went out, the wheels also were beside them, and every one stood at the door of the east gate of the LORD's house; and the glory of the God of Israel was over them above.
KJV

Ezek 11:23

23And the glory of the LORD went up from the midst of the city, and stood upon the mountain which is on the east side of the city.
KJV

And so the glory of the LORD left the First Jewish Temple lastly standing on the Mount of Olives (on the East side) before going up to heaven.

(view from Temple Mount across the saddle of the Kidron to Mt. of Olives)

Nebuchadnezzar destroyed the First Jewish Temple on Tisha B-Av (9th of Av), and the Jews went off into captivity. They lost their Temple, and they lost their land. They were dispersed from This Place! It became a curse once more!

70 years later Ezra/Nehemiah return to this place!

They are the political leaders of return, but 2 other men were involved with the building and worship of the Second Temple!

You must read the books of Haggai and Zechariah to understand the importance of Zerubbabel and Joshua in the building and worship of the Second Jewish Temple. Just like Solomon and Zadok so also God raises up Zerubbabel and Joshua.

The Jewish people were reluctant to build the Second Temple. The curse was well within memory. They knew it must all be kosher or disaster will be the result. The prophet Haggai speaks about This Place, and the Second Jewish Temple.

Hag 1:1-2

1:1In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, in the first day of the month, came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, saying,

2Thus speaketh the LORD of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that the LORD's house should be built.

Hag 1:7-8

7Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

8Go up to the mountain, and bring wood, and build the house; and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith the LORD.

Hag 1:14

14And the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Josedech, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and did work in the house of the LORD of hosts, their God,

Zechariah speaks of these same 2 men! He speaks of their calling, their ministry! The charge to build and establish kosher worship and sacrifice in the Second Jewish Temple that is to be built on This Place!

Zech 4:2-3

2And said unto me, What seest thou? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl upon the top of it, and his seven lamps thereon, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are upon the top thereof:

3And two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl, and the other upon the left side thereof.

Zech 4:9

9The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and thou shalt know that the LORD of hosts hath sent me unto you.

Zech 4:1

11Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

Zech 4:14

14Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.

These Two olive trees Zerubbabel and Joshua are the builder and the High Priest who re-established proper Temple worship and sacrifice for the Second Jewish Temple on This Place!

Some 400 years later, in the days of Christ,  This Place, this Second Jewish Temple, turned into a curse again! The Glory of the LORD left again. It was Christ who called the Pharisees and Sadducees hypocrites. It was Christ who said it would come to destruction!

Matt 24:1-3

24:1And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.

2And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.

3(a)And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, .....
KJV

Yes, the Glory of God departed a second time, this time, from the Second Jewish Temple! It went up just as before from the peak on the East. It crossed the saddle of the Kidron just as Ezekiel saw it the first time. It went up to the heights of the Mount of Olives, and then up to heaven!

Acts 1:9-12

9And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

12(a)Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, …

(Western wall looking [W to E] at Temple Mount to Mount of Olives in the far distance across the Kidron)

Titus destroyed the Second Jewish Temple on 9th of Av in 72AD. The Jews were carried off into captivity. They went into dispersion again. They lost their Temple again, and they lost their land again.

Today we wait! The Bible says He (the Glory of the LORD) will come in like manner! To This Place!

III THE FUTURE OF THIS PLACE

The Jews are back in the land!

There is more Biblical history associated to This Place!

Our eyes should be fixed on This Place!

Ezekiel prophesied (Ezekiel 40 -48) of a Third Jewish Temple that will be built on This Place!

A unique Temple different from the other two! - it will have a throne! It has never been built - yet!

Ezek 43:6-7

6And I heard him speaking unto me out of the house; and the man stood by me.

7And he said unto me, Son of man, the place of my throne, and the place of the soles of my feet, where I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel for ever, and my holy name, shall the house of Israel no more defile, neither they, nor their kings, by their whoredom, nor by the carcases of their kings in their high places

A perfect kingdom with a perfect King who will rule with a rod of iron from This Place!

Who will build this Temple? It will be built, but how? Well, ... until it actually happens we can only speculate on the hows. Some have speculated there will be a secular tribulation Temple, and then the Third Jewish Temple which will stand during the 1000 year reign of Christ as King of Salem, King of the Jews, King of kings! I have a much better proposal for speculation that has a lot of Biblical authority behind it. It just makes more sense to me. I claim nothing more then an interest in putting things together from a fundamentalist position. I always had problems with how there could be Two wars with Russia in the Tribulation. One in an uncertain time during the tribulation in Ezekiel 38 & 39, and then again at the end of the tribulation as part of the battle of Armageddon? I just prayed and studied about the problems. I also saw that because there is a weakness in resolving some of the problems with speculating about the hows during the 7 year tribulation that wolves were taking advantage of the flock by proposing a mid-tribulation rapture theory which has become very popular. I also see the money changers at work proposing through a book series and videos that portray the continuation of the Church in some distorted, modified form after the rapture. These guys are probably the worst Biblical scholars of all time. Again, the flock is fleeced, and God is in appearance manipulated to fill their coffers, or their egos, or both?

The Rapture is first! A new dispensation can't begin until the old one is over. God will hold His children to different standards through the 7 year tribulation, and on into the Millennial reign of Christ. It will be a return to the correct form of Judaism which will again prepare for the coming Kingdom of heaven as proclaimed by John the Baptist (the last of the Old Testament prophets). The Church must be removed before John's message can again be proclaimed to the Jews. This is what the rapture is all about. It is the removal of all who are bound to the New Testament teachings of the Church dispensation. We go, and God raises up from the Jewish people Two Witnesses and 144,000 faithful Jewish followers who are the foundation of the next dispensation. We must step aside so God can fulfill His promises to the Jews through Christ! The leaders of the next dispensation will have to battle the Apostate Church left behind after the rapture. It will be exactly as it is today with it's Popes, and cults, and money changers, and conventions, and speakers, and conferences, and miracle meetings, and TV shows, and schools, and on and on and on .... Much of the secular Jews and the religious Pharisees of today who are lost in a Judaism of good works will oppose this return to real Judaism. They will fight the call to prepare for the coming Kingdom. The real miracles of the Two Witnesses will thwart all attempts to stop them from their appointed mission. Building the Third Jewish Temple. Ezekiel's Temple with a throne.

This Place is center to the accomplishment of all the promises God made to the Jews. Jesus Christ will need a throne from which to rule when He returns at the Second Coming in the end of the 7 year tribulation. John the Apostle saw a Jewish Temple just as Ezekiel did. Ezekiel saw and wrote about this Temple after the First Jewish Temple was destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar. John the Apostle I believe saw and wrote about this same Jewish Temple after the Second Jewish Temple of his day was destroyed by Titus. It is a Third Jewish Temple with a throne.

Follow along as John writes about his experience in this Third Jewish Temple! A Temple yet to be built in This Place!

Rev 11:1-4

11:1And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.

(It has an altar which means sacrifice - Old Testament sacrifice will again be proper representing the coming Christ)

2But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

3And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

4These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the God of the earth

(Read my exposition of Rev. 11 titled The Second Woe for more details on the Two Witnesses)

The same mission as the two olive trees of Zechariah (Zerubbabel and Joshua) who built and established proper worship and sacrifice in the Second Jewish Temple is now associated to those who will build and establish proper worship and sacrifice in this yet future Third Jewish Temple!

Zech 4:11

11Then answered I, and said unto him, What are these two olive trees upon the right side of the candlestick and upon the left side thereof?

Zech 4:14

14Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, that stand by the LORD of the whole earth.

Yes, it is very clear there is a connection between the Two Olive Trees of Zechariah, and the Two Olive Trees of John. Both prophets saw the building of a future Jewish Temple. Zechariah saw the Two Olive Trees of the Second Jewish Temple, and John saw the Two Olive Trees of the Third Jewish Temple. It is obvious that Zechariah and Haggai both prophesied beyond the Second Temple to an even more future Third Temple in their writings. They seem to drift from one age to another, from one Temple to another. They speak at times of things that can't be attached to the history of the Second Jewish Temple.

Hag 2:6-7

6For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land;

7And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.
KJV

Hag 2:9

9The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts
KJV

The Second Temple was never filled with the glory of God as was the Tabernacle and First Temple. The Second Temple was filled with the presents of the Lord Jesus Christ, but never in the sense of what is spoken in the Tabernacle and First Temple. Ezekiel's Temple, the Third Jewish Temple does get filled with the glory of God as happened in the Tabernacle and First Temple. It is the Lord Jesus Christ at His Second Coming!

Ezek 43:4-5

4And the glory of the LORD came into the house by the way of the gate whose prospect is toward the east.

5So the spirit took me up, and brought me into the inner court; and, behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house.
KJV

One billion Moslems are ready to march into Israel when God stirs the spirit of these Two Witnesses to declare they are going to build a Third Jewish Temple, and establish kosher worship and sacrifice at This Place in preparation for the Second Coming of the Jewish Messiah! A coming kingdom will be proclaimed that will rule the world from This Place! The Jews, the apostate Christians, the world will all say ... shush! These men have a mission that can't be shushed! They will have a mandate from God! Build my house in 3 1/2 years, in 42 months, in a thousand two hundred and three score days! The Jihad is called! A religious war where a billion Moslems (according to today's leaders) invade Israel. And, the events of Ezekiel 38 & 39 take place. This is not the coming war with Russia as some have speculated. It is a Moslem invasion of Israel. The last Jihad! It makes more sense! It is the end of Islam! Folks, a Third Jewish Temple can never be built in This Place unless the heart of the Moslem world changes or they are wiped off the face of the earth. I'm sure the warning will be clear from this little group of Jews lead by the Two Witnesses, the Two Olive Trees, but I'm just as sure their warnings will be ignored. The curse of This Place will again find realization to any who will defy God's sovereignty over This Place!

Chronologically Ezekiel 38 & 39 (the end of Islam) takes place before Ezekiel 40-48 (the Third Jewish Temple).

(In fact, Ezekiel 36 & 37 about the dry bones coming back to life proceeds the end of Islam)

Israel's return in Ezekiel 36 & 37 is as applicable today (1948) as it is to the days of Ezra/Nehemiah.

Here is the chronology of the end of Ezekiel from today's perspective.

  1. Israel returns to the land (dry bones come to life) Ezekiel 36 & 37.
  2. The Last Jihad takes place (a war that has not happened - yet) Ezekiel 38 & 39.
  3. The Temple is built & worship (sacrifice) begins (a Temple that has not been built - yet) Ezekiel 40 - 48.

This invasion, this last Jihad,  leaves 5/6ths of a billion Moslems dead on the hills of Israel. It is the end of Islam!

Ezek 39:1-5

39:1Therefore, thou son of man, prophesy against Gog, and say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

2And I will turn thee back, and leave but the sixth part of thee, and will cause thee to come up from the north parts, and will bring thee upon the mountains of Israel:

3And I will smite thy bow out of thy left hand, and will cause thine arrows to fall out of thy right hand.

4Thou shalt fall upon the mountains of Israel, thou, and all thy bands, and the people that is with thee: I will give thee unto the ravenous birds of every sort, and to the beasts of the field to be devoured.

5Thou shalt fall upon the open field: for I have spoken it, saith the Lord GOD.

The Gog are the people who live in the land of Magog north of the Caucus Mountains. They are not the Russians in this case, but the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal. Some speculate that Meshech and Tubal represent Moscow and Tubalsk the twin capital cities of Russia? Should this be true, the Gog of Ezekiel are only the chief prince of Moscow and Tubalsk, not Russia itself. This chief prince I speculate is the Islamic part of the old USSR. They are now mostly break away Moslem countries like Chechnya filled with the maniac hate of a losing vicious war. They live around the Black and Caspian Seas where these grandsons and great grandsons of Noah settled. The names Ezekiel uses for these invaders from the north are only found in Genesis 10 where the families of the nations are listed. The Gog, Meshech, and Tubal all settled north of the Caucuses. Today, this area is Moslem! Other grandsons and great grandsons are listed in Ezekiel 38 where this whole section on the invasion of Israel begins

Ezek 38:1-6
38:1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him,

3And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold I am against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

4And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet:

6Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: and many people with thee.
KJV

New names like Gomer and Togarmah are speculated with good authority to be modern Turkey. Gomer settled both north (Russia) and south (Turkey) of the Black Sea, and so represents Moslems of both those countries. Noah landed on Mount Ararat one of the peaks of the Caucus Mountains which has been the boarder between the USSR and Turkey. Now the break away Moslem countries of the former USSR are on the boarder north of the Caucasus. They (the Gog) seem to be the instigators of this last Jihad. They flow out of the North joined by Turkey to settle the conflict with the Two Witnesses and This Place! Other countries which join the invasion are Persia who just recently changed it's name to Iran. They flow from the East. I think Iraq will put aside it's animosities as will all the other Gulf States in this great Moslem invasion from the East. From the South comes Ethiopia and Libya. This is clearly Northern Africa which is all Moslem. This is not a coming war between Israel and Russia. It is the opening of the 7 year tribulation where God declares His sovereignty over the Temple Mount, over This Place, and it becomes the greatest curse to those who would defy His will. It is the Last Jihad! One billion Moslem invaders are struck down in an instant. Israel spends 7 years (the entire tribulation period) burying the dead. They initially spend 7 months in a national effort, then 7 years in a long term attempt to cleanse the land.

Ezek 39:9

9And they that dwell in the cities of Israel shall go forth, and shall set on fire and burn the weapons, both the shields and the bucklers, the bows and the arrows, and the handstaves, and the spears, and they shall burn them with fire seven years:
KJV

Ezek 39:12

12And seven months shall the house of Israel be burying of them, that they may cleanse the land.
KJV

Ezek 39:14-15

14And they shall sever out men of continual employment, passing through the land to bury with the passengers those that remain upon the face of the earth, to cleanse it: after the end of seven months shall they search.

15And the passengers that pass through the land, when any seeth a man's bone, then shall he set up a sign by it, till the buriers have buried it in the valley of Hamon-gog.
KJV

(Read my article on the Last Jihad for more details on this invasion of Israel)

This Place becomes a curse in these last days to the indifferent Jews, the apostate Christians, the world of gentile nations, all religions, all governments, every single person who does not join the Two Witnesses in Jerusalem and the 144,000 Jewish followers!

For 42 months these Two Olive Trees minister. They build the Third Jewish Temple, Ezekiel's Temple! They establish kosher worship again (sacrifice). God has removed Islam. The Moslem Mosques are cleared aside by the Two Witnesses just as the Jews have cleared the refuge dump from in front of the Western Wall. One of the Two Witnesses is the builder like Solomon and Zerubbabel, the other is designated the High Priest like Zadok and Joshua. These Olive Trees establish proper, kosher, sacrificial, God acceptable, Old Testament, worship in this Temple. No Jew, No Christian, No holy man of any sort, No one knows how to build or how to establish worship that is acceptable to God, which will bring the glory of the LORD back to This Place! The Two Witnesses who manifest the power of God will! The Anti-Christ kills them after 42 months. The half way point of the 7 year tribulation. Their task has been completed; their ministry is accomplished. The time of Jacob's Trouble begins, not some mid-trib rapture baloney.  The Anti-Christ desecrates This Place for the last 42 months of tribulation period. The faithful Jews, the followers of the Two Witnesses, the 144,000 all must flee the Temple and Jerusalem after the death of the Two Witnesses. They are in for trouble. All the hatred of the world will be directed toward them. Revenge for all those who died as a result of the curse of This Place will focus on them. The Anti-Christ will lead in the attempt to wipe them off the face of the earth. He desecrates the Temple just as Antiochus did to the Second Temple before the Maccabeean revolt.

1 Maccabees 1:

10 And there came out of them a wicked root Antiochus surnamed Epiphanes, son of Antiochus the king, who had been an hostage at Rome, and he reigned in the hundred and thirty and seventh year of the kingdom of the Greeks.

11 In those days went there out of Israel wicked men, who persuaded many, saying, Let us go and make a covenant with the heathen that are round about us: for since we departed from them we have had much sorrow.

29 And after two years fully expired the king sent his chief collector of tribute unto the cities of Juda, who came unto Jerusalem with a great multitude, 30 And spake peaceable words unto them, but all was deceit: for when they had given him credence, he fell suddenly upon the city, and smote it very sore, and destroyed much people of Israel. 31 And when he had taken the spoils of the city, he set it on fire, and pulled down the houses and walls thereof on every side. 32 But the women and children took they captive, and possessed the cattle. 33 Then builded they the city of David with a great and strong wall, and with mighty towers, and made it a strong hold for them. 34 And they put therein a sinful nation, wicked men, and fortified themselves therein

37 Thus they shed innocent blood on every side of the sanctuary, and defiled it: 38 Insomuch that the inhabitants of Jerusalem fled because of them: whereupon the city was made an habitation of strangers, and became strange to those that were born in her; and her own children left her. 39 Her sanctuary was laid waste like a wilderness, her feasts were turned into mourning, her sabbaths into reproach her honour into contempt. 40 As had been her glory, so was her dishonour increased, and her excellency was turned into mourning.

41 Moreover king Antiochus wrote to his whole kingdom, that all should be one people, 42 And every one should leave his laws: so all the heathen agreed according to the commandment of the king. 43 Yea, many also of the Israelites consented to his religion, and sacrificed unto idols, and profaned the sabbath. 44 For the king had sent letters by messengers unto Jerusalem and the cities of Juda that they should follow the strange laws of the land, 45 And forbid burnt offerings, and sacrifice, and drink offerings, in the temple; and that they should profane the sabbaths and festival days: 46 And pollute the sanctuary and holy people: 47 Set up altars, and groves, and chapels of idols, and sacrifice swine’s flesh, and unclean beasts: 48 That they should also leave their children uncircumcised, and make their souls abominable with all manner of uncleanness and profanation: 49 To the end they might forget the law, and change all the ordinances. 50 And whosoever would not do according to the commandment of the king, he said, he should die.

56 And when they had rent in pieces the books of the law which they found, they burnt them with fire. 57 And whosoever was found with any the book of the testament, or if any committed to the law, the king’s commandment was, that they should put him to death.

60 At which time according to the commandment they put to death certain women, that had caused their children to be circumcised. 61 And they hanged the infants about their necks, and rifled their houses, and slew them that had circumcised them.

62 Howbeit many in Israel were fully resolved and confirmed in themselves not to eat any unclean thing. 63 Wherefore the rather to die, that they might not be defiled with meats, and that they might not profane the holy covenant: so then they died. 64 And there was very great wrath upon Israel.

The Anti-Christ will make Antiochus seem like a kindergartener when he deals with the Jews after the Two Witnesses are killed. The secular and pompous religious Jews who do not flee will think they can compromise with this fiend (after all they were opposed to the Two Witnesses also), but will find a man worse then Aldof Hitler now in control. They will have to sell their souls in an attempt to survive only to find any peaceable words from him are total deceit. Imagine a man who will be worse then the one who killed the babies found circumcised, then chained the dead carcass around the mother's neck, then made her walk the streets of Jerusalem until the rotting flesh of her baby caused her to die. All in the name of a new universal world religion making the Anti-Christ god.

This Anti-Christ will pursue the fleeing faithful Jews with a vengeance. He will spend the next 42 months trying to outdo the miracles done by the Two Witnesses while they built Ezekiel's Temple. He will be impressive, but his peaceful words of deceit will soon lead the world to Armageddon. North, South, East, and West (seat of the Anti-Christ) all come together in the valley near Megiddo to do war. It is possible in these last days that the Faithful Jews who fled into the wilderness, the 144,000 divinely protected Jews, all are able to return to Jerusalem. The Anti-Christ will have abandoned Jerusalem to the King of the North (Russia) as they move on Megiddo. A moment for the faithful to cleanse the Temple, and prepare it for the coming Glory. A final plea of invitation to those surviving Jews of the Anti-Christ holocaust.

The Second Coming of Christ!

Zech 14:2-4

2For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

3Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.

4And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

The one whom the angels said would return in like manner returns! His feet touch the exact spot where they were touching when He went up to heaven. He moves across the saddle of the Kidron to His throne. The Bible says He comes to go forth and fight! This Place becomes a curse to all the nations which gathered together for war here in the land of Israel.

Zech 14:12

12And this shall be the plague wherewith the LORD will smite all the people that have fought against Jerusalem; Their flesh shall consume away while they stand upon their feet, and their eyes shall consume away in their holes, and their tongue shall consume away in their mouth.

KJV

(Sorry Dr. Jack Van Impe who loves to milk this passage as evidence of an atomic bomb blast and personal popularity - it says plague - you know, like the kind the Philistines suffered. It will be quick and final to all whom the King so designates.)

Christ will rule from This Place as King of kings, and LORD of lords!

 Zech 14:16-17

16And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.

17And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.

This Place will continue to be a curse to all the rebels, to all the disobedient, to any who refuse to acknowledge Christ!

Christ will rule with a rod of iron!

Rev 19:15

15And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

A rod of righteousness! No playboy philosophy, No pornography, No homosexuality, No Rock and Roll music, No I'll do it my way! It will be God's way or No way! The Bible will be honored. The law of Biblical righteousness will be the law of the land. There will be No appeal! Righteousness will be clear and quick in judgment. It will be absolute in every action. No rain and death will be the wages for those who would defy this King. The slick talkers will be judged before they can get out a word by this King who sees the heart. It will be a very different Kingdom then what many have imagined.

A curse to all who will be rebellious, but a blessing to those who submit!

  Isa 2:2-5

5O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD

Peace, real peace, comes with a price. That price is righteousness. Only a perfect King can minister perfect righteousness. It is this kind of peace that Isaiah so clearly saw coming to This Place! From here it will go throughout the world. David saw these things and was thrilled to get started on the First Temple built in This Place. David's father was Jesse is whom the scriptures honor in references to David and his seed. The prophets were thrilled to see the day of Jesse's root taking control of all the earth. They saw the blessings that would come from His rule.

Isa 11:1

11:1And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots:

KJV

 Isa 11:6-10

6The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the kid; and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.

7And the cow and the bear shall feed; their young ones shall lie down together: and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.

8And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp, and the weaned child shall put his hand on the cockatrice' den.

9They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my holy mountain: for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.

10And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.

Imagine the babe in a rattlesnake den, and the snakes have no inclination to strike. Their nature has been changed. The lion's nature is changed to eat straw like the ox. It is beyond any power we have ever seen. These blessings are without parallel. The power to change the nature of the beast is available right now for you. This Christ will be either a curse to you; the cause of your eternal damnation. Or, He can be the greatest blessing ever imagined. He has the power! He leaves the choice to you. Will you receive Him or reject Him?

John 1:12

12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

The future Biblical history of This Place reveals a rebellion at the end of the 1000 year reign of Christ. Satan is loosed from his imprisonment, and the generation of those last days rebel. The Gog of that day raise their ugly heads in revolt again. The city of Jerusalem is again surrounded by the nations believing Satan's lies that they can overthrow this King. It does not work! It only brings the Great White Throne Judgment, and the end of days. The lake of fire is opened, and all rebels of all times are cast alive into it's eternal fire. Hell is emptied, then sin itself is cast into the eternal fires. Sin has a beginning in Biblical history, and it has an end! Only those written in the Lamb's book of life go into a heavenly future of perfect righteousness forever. This is the history of This Place! It is a curse to the rebels, but altogether lovely to those who submit to Christ with all their heart, and all their soul, and all their might!

Rev 20:7-15
7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8 And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.
9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them.
10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
