Researchers at the University of California are forecasting that
42 percent of HIV infections in
San Francisco will be resistant to current AIDS drugs by 2005,
further complicating efforts to keep the rapidly mutating virus in
check.
"Forty-two percent is a lot of resistance. It will certainly be a
challenge if we do not get new drugs developed," said Dr. James Kahn, an
AIDS specialist at San Francisco General Hospital and senior author of
the report, published yesterday in the journal Nature Medicine.
Resistant strains of HIV are developed when the virus mutates into
forms that aren't suppressed by a combination of powerful antiviral
drugs -- the so- called cocktails that have cut the AIDS death rate in
half since their introduction in 1996.
The model shows drug resistance among all people living with HIV --
including both new and existing infections -- growing from zero in 1996
to 28. 5 percent in 1999, and reaching 42 percent in 2005.
Limited data from San Francisco General Hospital clinics suggest
that the model has been accurately tracking the proportion of drug
resistant cases -- which in 1999 accounted for 28 percent of the
hospital's HIV caseload.
Once resistance appears, doctors can switch to new combinations. But
for a patient, it can signal a slide from robust health to a life with
increasingly less desirable medical choices. "Subsequent treatments
rarely work as well as the first," said Kahn, an associate professor at
the University of California at San Francisco.

I can't help but notice that Aids is primarily the
sickness of the homosexual. The San Francisco Gay community leads the way in
what is happening to those who are so openly hostel to the God of the Bible. God
has often used sickness to deal with those who hate Him. There are fruits of
sin, and Aids clearly falls into that category. It is different from cancer, or
heart attack in it's selectivity. Only the foolish can't see the hand of God
being manifested in this plague as it was manifested in the past.

The Mufti´s Message of Hate

In the summer of 1997, a young Israeli art student named
Tatiana Susskin
drew a caricature portraying the Prophet Mohammed as a pig
and
tacked up copies of it on Arab storefronts in Hebron. She could hardly
have devised a more inflammatory insult. The crude leaflets provoked riots
and calls for vengeance, not only in Hebron but in much of the Muslim
world.
Far from defending Susskin, leading Israelis rushed to condemn her.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
phoned the Arab mayor of Hebron "to express not only my personal
revulsion, but the revulsion of the entire people of Israel ... against
this frontal attack on one of the world´s
great religions."
There was an apology as well from President Ezer
Weizman and one of the country´s
two chief rabbis went to Hebron to apologize in person to the city´s
senior Muslim cleric.
Susskin, meanwhile, was arrested
by Israeli authorities and put on trial. She was convicted in
Jerusalem District Court of (among other charges) committing a racist act,
attempted vandalism and attempting to give religious offense.

Segal sentenced her to two years in prison, calling her deed a
"revolting, degenerate act which offended the feelings of Moslems in
Israel and the entire world." Her
appeal to the Israeli Supreme Court was rejected and she spent 16 months
behind bars before being released on parole. .....
Consider the case of Ikrama Sabri. In July 1997, just a few days after
Susskin´s leaflets went up in Hebron, Sabri called openly for violence
against Israeli Jews -- "colonialist settlers who are
sons of monkeys and pigs."
He beseeched Allah to "take revenge" on them (and, for good measure, to
"destroy America, for she is ruled by Zionist Jews.")
Unlike Susskin, a lone activist with no public platform or official
position, Sabri is a Palestinian of considerable influence: He is the
mufti of Jerusalem, chosen by Yasser Arafat to be the city´s senior
Islamic religious figure. His
sermons are attended by thousands of worshipers and broadcast on
Palestinian radio. There can hardly be any doubt about the
Palestinian Authority´s obligation to silence Sabri´s anti-Jewish hate
rhetoric -- or about the importance of doing so.
But Sabri was not silenced in the summer of 1997. Nor was he silenced the
following March, when he praised suicide bombings as "a response to the
occupation" and a "legitimate" means of confronting Israel. Nor was he
silenced - let alone arrested, prosecuted and imprisoned -- in March 2000,
when he mocked Jewish deaths in the Holocaust. "Six million Jews dead? No
way, they were much fewer," Sabri sneered, "Let´s stop with this fairy
tale."
Last summer, the mufti whipped up a frenzy over the prospect of
Jews praying on the Temple Mount.
Any "Jewish prayer," he threatened, would mean "massacres the magnitude of
which only Allah knows ...
massacres and rivers of blood." The reaction of the Palestinian
Authority? It published Sabri´s
words in Al Hayat
Al Jadidah,
the official PA newspaper.
His vitriol has been unending. "I am filled with rage toward the Jews," he
spat in October. "They are the
most cowardly creatures Allah ever created." In June came another
paean to suicide bombers: "Oh, Muslims," he preached,
"attack and you will gain one of
two blessings: either victory or martyrdom.... The Muslim loves death and
martyrdom." One week later, an Arab bomber murdered 21 young
Israelis outside a disco in Tel Aviv.
Some might see the difference as
civilized vs. uncivilized. Others might see this as the difference between those
who follow Allah of the Koran, and those who follow the God of the Bible. I see
it as the difference between those who are ruled by blind hate, and those who
are following their destiny as laid out by the only omnipotent God. A lesson
should be learned about justice, and the God of the Bible through these
practical examples of attitude. The omnipotent God has already dictated that
Islam will find it's demise on the
mountains of Israel (Ezekiel 38 & 39). It will
be justice in action by the God of the Bible as He deals with the blind hate of
the Islamic world. We should well remember the lesson of today when justice is
manifested by the God of the Bible.

Durban - The World's attitude toward Israel,

Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Foreign
Minister Shimon Peres will decide this morning on whether to withdraw the
Israeli delegation from the World Conference Against Racism in Durban, after
thousands of nongovernment organizations attending a parallel conference in
Durban adopted a harshly anti-Israel summary statement yesterday.
The NGO resolution called Israel "a
racist apartheid state" and accused it of
"systematic perpetration of racist
crimes, including war crimes, acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing." In
addition, pro-Palestinian delegates at the forum managed to remove a passage
from the draft text that condemned the firebombing of synagogues and armed
assaults against Jews.

Kofi Annan opened the controversial Durban conference on racism on
Friday, receiving his longest and
loudest applause for remarks critical of Israel, an omen of the
gathering's festering antisemitic agenda that threatens to quickly drive away
Jewish attendees and anyone else with their moral compass still intact.
Israel and the United States announced Monday night
that they were withdrawing from the United Nations World Conference Against
Racism in Durban, South Africa, after attempts to reach a compromise on the
conference's draft declaration ended in
failure.
Foreign Minister Shimon Peres, speaking at a press conference Monday night,
announced that Israel had decided to withdraw following a
"unilateral and ugly proposal by the
Arab and Muslim leagues that are united against peace and for the Intifada
against Israel."
Let all men be liars, God is true! God
is just! God decides on the basis of His holiness who shall succeed, and who
shall be punished. The world's opinion is of little consequence when God enters
into the fray. Durban represents the majority of world opinion about Israel. The
Palestinians have managed to manipulate world opinion because there is a
universal hatred of the Jew today. The world does not like the fact that God has
allowed Israel to return a second time to the promised land. The world does not
like the fact that God has a plan which includes the Jew and Jesus Christ
centered in Jerusalem and the Holy Land. It really does not matter what world
opinion may be. God is omnipotent, and His plan will be the only plan that will
become reality.

explode in capital city

Terror has returned to the streets of Jerusalem as four bombs have exploded
in the past twelve hours, three in the northern section of the capital city and
one in the embattled Gilo neighborhood.
A car bomb exploded not long ago on Hahagana Street in the northern French Hill
section of the city, close to the neighborhood's commercial center.
One woman was lightly wounded in the
blast, reported The Jerusalem Post's Etgar Lefkovits.
Eyewitnesses report the car was completely demolished in the explosion and the
remains went up in flames. ....
Another car bomb exploded minutes ago in southern Jerusalem's Gilo
neighborhood.
According to Israel Radio, the bomb exploded in a parking lot belonging to the
city's Gihon utility company. Four or five employees were having breakfast in
the adjacent office just prior to the explosion. When they were finished eating,
they went outside to their vehicles. One man was reportedly already inside his
truck when the bomb exploded.
Magen David Adom emergency medical teams are reporting
three people lightly wounded in that
blast, all of them Gihon employees.
Police sappers have found another bomb found in the vehicle and are now in the
process of trying to neutralize the device.
An earlier bomb exploded around midnight on French Hill's Ha'etzel Street in the
entrance to a residential apartment building.
Bomb squad members discovered the remains of a pipe bomb at the scene,
reportedly designed to be detonated by cellular phone.
The bomb was packed with nails and other
types of shrapnel.
An additional bomb exploded last night in the Ma'alot Dafna section in the
city's northern region, not far from French Hill.
One woman reportedly suffered from shock
in that explosion.
The cry of Allah Akbar is rather subdued as these
latest attempts at the indiscriminant murder of Jews is again frustrated.
It seems like Allah sleeps as his followers bent on proving his greatness are
frustrated in their twisted hate filled attempts to uphold his honor. The God of
the Bible is forcing Islam to accept His decision to give the Holy Land and
Jerusalem to the Jews this second time of return. Their resistance meets more
frustration then success.

HINDU nationalists in India have
launched a marketing exercise to promote
cow's urine as a health cure for ailments ranging from liver disease to
obesity and even cancer.
The urine, which is being sold under the label
"Gift of the Cow", is being
enthusiastically promoted by the
government of Gujarat, one of three states in India dominated by Hindu
nationalists.
The urine is collected daily from almost
600 shelters for rescued and wounded cattle set up by the Vishwa Hindu
Parisad (VHP), or World Council of Holy men, as part of a government
cow-protection programme
to save the
country's sacred, but often maltreated, beasts.
Advertised as being "sterilised and completely fresh" it is available for 20
rupees (30p) a bottle at about 50 centres run by the VHP in Gujerat, from 200 of
their outlets in neighbouring Madhya Pradesh, and at fairs
and religious festivals throughout
India.
It also comes in tablets or a cream
mixed with other traditional medicinal herbs. Demand is currently outstripping
supply.
Dr Jadi Patel at the VHP's headquarters in Ahmedabad said: "It's very popular
because the results are very good, but we've got a shortage." He explained that
the cow protection centres had been formed after the last grand gathering of
saddhus, or holy men, to save cows from
"unofficial slaughter by Muslims".
Killing cows is illegal in most Indian states but there are an estimated 32,000
illegal abattoirs and 13.7 million cows are believed to be
slaughtered by Muslims for the leather
industry.
The Muslims have problems with more
then just the Jew. How foolish to think that if the Jewish/Muslim problem were
solved there would be harmony in the world? This world is a corrupt place on the
road to self destruction. God must intervene because this world of sin is going
to destroy itself. The prospects for peace among sinners is ridiculous. The
Muslim theology tells its followers to die for the cause while murdering Jews is
to reach paradise. It is a lie! The gift of the Hindu is holy cow urine? It also
is a lie! The gift of the God of the Bible is eternal life through Jesus Christ
our Lord. That is truth! How sad this sinful world rejects Jesus Christ for
murder and cow urine.

Sharon denounces "worst anti-semitic campaign since World War
II"

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon used a speech to Orthodox
Russian Jews Wednesday to denounce what he termed
the worst anti-semitic
campaign confronting Israel since World War II.
"We are witnessing an
unprecedented anti-semitic
campaign, the likes of which we have not seen since World War II, it
is a campaign against Israel in name, but against the Jewish people
in reality," he said.
Sharon, on a visit to Russia, renewed a call for more Russian
Jews to emigrate to Israel.
"In Israel over the next few years,
we need to accept another
one million Jews. We have already accepted one million
Russian Jews, these people have made great contributions to culture
society, they are great fighters and soldiers," he said.
Nearly one million
immigrants from the former Soviet Union and Russia live in Israel,
almost one sixth of the population.

To most it is just rhetoric. To those
who understand the Bible it is true, and expected. The hate for the Jew is
directly linked to the God of the Bible's claim on them as His chosen people. It
is a hate born out of jealousy. A large part of the Christian world is guilty of
letting this jealousy fester. God is showing His favor for the Jew in our
generation. They have returned to the Holy Land an unprecedented second time.
They are today taking control of not only of the Holy Land, but most importantly
the Holy City Jerusalem. All future blessings associated with Jerusalem
are not going to be Islamic, Catholic, or any other form of Christianity. All
future blessings associated with Jerusalem can only be Jewish as the omnipotent
God of the Bible turns the control of that Holy City into Jewish hands. The more
the Jews take control of their Biblical destiny, the more jealousy raises it's
vicious head among those of the world who find themselves excluded from those
blessings. The world could rejoice in the blessings and favor the Jews are
finding today, but rather it only shows it's jealousy.
The God of the Bible promised a great
restoration from the North. Only the most foolish can't see this prophecy is
being fulfilled this very day! It is all part of the blessings God promised to
the Jew. The greatest King of the Jews is soon to return to Jerusalem. His favor
is already established. A Christ rejecting world will only grow in hostility
against His choice of the chosen people.

from all the countries who have come to Israel in our day. They are those the
LORD said here in Jeremiah that He brought up from the "north country!" I
believe many of these Russian Jews will be saved during the 7 year Tribulation.
Many may even be part of the 144,000 foundational Jews of Revelation 7 & 14.
Two may even be the Two Witnesses of Revelation 11.

"WE 'HIJACKED' the conference," said one returning
Palestinian non-governmental organization representative in unabashed
glee.
Indeed, before the official
UN World Conference Against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia
and Other Forms of Intolerance even began proceedings, 3,000 NGOs from 44
different areas barring Israel, the United States, Canada and Europe
adopted a resolution on September 1
condemning Israel for being a
"racist, apartheid state" that is "colonialist" and the perpetrator of
racist crimes.
The declaration also condemned Israel for inhumanity in denying food
and water to the Palestinians and for the victimization of women and
children, and the discrimination of Palestinians in Israel. The Jewish
Caucus, composed of several pro-Israel organizations, tried to insert a
last-minute clause saying that accusations of ethnic cleansing and
apartheid are a "virulent contemporary form of anti-Semitism," but
the amendment was shot down by the
vast majority of the delegations.

It may be some day the world will hold
a conference, and all the delegates will vote God out! They may not like His
definition of righteousness and sin. They might deem Him unfair in His singular
evaluation of who will be condemned for all eternity, and who will be saved.
They may not like His choice for who will be His chosen. It really would not
matter what the delegates may vote. God will act on His terms irregardless
of what man may think is fair or unfair. God has chosen Israel to be blessed
apart from all the other nations on earth. God has preserved them for this
generation. It is this generation that has been favored with the promised second
return to the Holy Land and the Holy City of Jerusalem. Mankind needs to
be humbled before the great God of the Bible. His power will enforce His
decisions, and the world will find it's opinion is meaningless in the face of
God's power.

Another elaborate plan goes
for nothing!
TERRORISTS SET SIGHTS ON JERUSALEM
The bravery of two Israeli border police
averted yet another catastrophic suicide bombing on Tuesday in Jerusalem,
where security has been beefed-up in the face of determined efforts by
Palestinian terrorists to target the capital city.
One day after the radical Marxist PFLP set off four pipe bombs in outlying
neighborhoods of Jerusalem, Hamas tried to upstage them by dispatching a
suicide bomber dressed as an
ultra-Orthodox Jew into the center of town in a bid to replay the deadly
Sbarro pizza bombing on August 9 that killed 15 people. A mere block away from
the site of that earlier blast, the Palestinian bomber was intercepted by two
alert policemen and quickly detonated himself,
wounding 20 people, one of the policemen
critically, along a busy street outside a French-language school and
meters away from a hospital.
Like two of the pipe bombs on Monday, the explosion came at around the
8:00 AM morning rush hour. The
bearded bomber was disguised in haredi garb and was carrying a large backpack,
which aroused the suspicion of a passerby. He alerted the
two policemen on routine patrol on Hanevi'im
Street, who ran up to the terrorist from behind and ordered him to stop.
One officer later reported the bomber turned, gave a strange smile and triggered
a large bomb hidden inside the backpack.
The force of the blast sent parts of his body flying dozens of meters, hurled
the policemen to the ground, and set two nearby cars ablaze. The terrorist's
severed head landed in the courtyard of the Lycee Francais, where police covered
it with an empty garbage bin to keep it out of the sight of horrified
schoolchildren just arriving for classes.
The injured received burns and wounds from
nails, screws, and shards of metal
contained in the bomb. Medical staff from the Bikur Holim Hospital, which sits
on the same block, were startled by the explosion and came running to the scene
to treat many of the wounded.
It is bad enough that one policeman was
killed and twenty wounded, but the plan was to kill Jews in mass. It did not
happen. The terrorists continue to be frustrated as their most elaborate plans
go bad. It is obvious where God's favor is being manifested. The greatness of
Allah of the Koran is more often then not proven a failure when compared to the
God of the Bible who is manifesting His favor on the Jews in the Holy Land
today. The Islamic world is being confronted with submissive acceptance of God's
future plans for Israel. Resisting the God of the Bible is becoming the mockery
of Islam as the world watches.

ISRAEL HALTS WAQF "REPAIR" OF SOUTHERN TEMPLE
WALL
Israeli authorities have ordered Islamic Waqf officials to cease their
desperate efforts to patch up a bulge in
the southern wall of the Temple Mount in Jerusalem, likely caused by
their transformation of the adjacent Solomon's Stable into a
huge underground mosque.
The repair work was launched this week without Israeli supervision after the
Waqf was notified that engineering experts concluded
an area of the southern wall of the
Temple Mount was leaning dangerously outward. Refusing any Israeli
archaeological supervision, the Waqf quickly began using inferior materials to
repair the bulge located just below the
spot where the new Marwani
mosque has been constructed on the inside of the retaining wall. But on
Thursday, Waqf repairmen had to lower their ropes and scaffolds from the top of
the wall before being evicted from the area by Israeli police.
Israel believes the Waqf
work in Solomon's Stables, located just above the bulge, likely caused
the stress on the wall. Wakf
officials, however, accuse Israel of purposely weakening the wall through
archaeological digs located quite a distance away in an
effort to destroy the al-Aqsa
Mosque and replace it with the Third Temple.
If the Islamic Waqf did not have bad
luck they would have no luck at all. In reality, it has nothing to do with luck,
but rather being out of favor with God! Not long ago the Waqf accused Israel of
undermining the Temple Mount with an archaeological dig along the Western
(Jewish) Wall. Many gullible Arabs lost their lives in the rioting instigated by
the Waqf. The Western Wall remains solid, and the Arab lives lost has become
meaningless. Lately, the Waqf has been building a great Mosque under the Temple
Mount in what is known as Solomon's Stables. Now, the Southern (Islamic) Wall is
starting to collapse above their excavations for the new Mosque. The Waqf who
can never do anything wrong because of their own pride do what all Islam seems
to do when things go wrong - They put the blame on Israel, and the gullible
faithful prepare to riot again. The world can only sit back in amassment as it
witnesses the God of the Bible in action. It seems the Waqf are doing more
unintentionally to destroy the al-Aqsa Mosque, and clear the way for a Third
Jewish Temple then any Israeli effort intentional or otherwise.

MEGIDDO TO TAKE 'CHRISTIAN' FILMS INTO MAINSTREAM?—Megiddo,
sequel to The Omega Code, was written by TBN's Paul Crouch and
produced by his son Matt. Costing
$20 million, it opens in 450 theaters Sept. 21. Its makers hope to
astonish Hollywood by drawing large numbers of Christians to the box office
(9/01 Charisma). And, therein lies a subtle danger! Crouch says,
"This is a ministry project,"
then later says, "It's a business
[from Hollywood's perspective], and unless you operate in the influence of
their system, they don't hear you….Whether you like the picture or
not, support it. It's biblically sound [?]. If we buy tickets, we get heard
by Hollywood." A "Christian ministry" would not have impressing Hollywood
(conform to the world) as a main goal. This
"Christian film" is like Amy
Grant's "Christian rock." And
as it did, it will recruit customers for Satan's world system.
Be warned, be wise, beware!
The Lord Jesus Christ showed His
contempt for those who used God to make their fortunes not once but twice when
He cleansed the Temple. It was one of the first things He did at the beginning
of His ministry, and one of the last things He did at the end of His ministry.
It puts great emphases on the danger of using God for personal gain. The vast
majority of God's servants work within what is considered poverty level here in
America. Paul Couch makes a mockery of their sacrifices. I would not want to be
in Paul Crouch's shoes when the time of accounting comes. He is the modern day
money changer! It was only these type folks that the Bible records as having
caused the Lord Jesus Christ to physically whip in holy anger. The Charismatic
movement promotes this money changer attitude as acceptable. This style of
Christianity will find only the whip at the end of the day. It is the
wood, hay, and stubble that will never pass into eternity.

LONDON — Iraq has expanded and restored a range of military
production lines throughout the country.
Opposition sources said the factories are meant to produce
missile components and nonconventional weapons. Many of the plants
are believed located near
the Jordanian and Syrian borders.
So far, at least eight factories have been operating at full
production. The sources said the effort began early this year and by
June the plants were churning out components and subsystems required
for Iraqi military and strategic programs.
The effort is being led by
Kusay
Hussein, the younger son of Iraqi President Saddam Hussein. Kusay
is said to be Saddam's heir.
One plant is located at Al Qayem, near the Jordanian and Syrian
borders. Western intelligence sources said this plant focuses on
chemical warheads for

Iran seeks Russian S-300 system
to protect nuclear sites

Iran is said to be seeking the S-300 anti-aircraft and anti-missile
system to protect its planned nuclear

Russian industry sources said the S-300 will be a leading topic of
discussion during this week's visit by Iranian Defense Minister Ali Shamkhani
to Moscow. Shamkhani is expected in Moscow on Sept. 5.

Organization Mehdi Rahmati said here Saturday that Iran, Syria and Iraq will
begin studies on implementation of project for linking their railways Works.
Rahmati told IRNA after a trilateral meeting with his
Syrian and Iraqi counterparts in Aleppo, Syria on Saturday that the three
sides had reached agreement in their meeting on joint study on the issue. He
said the Syrian and Iraqi sides were insisting on speedy implementation of the
project. The official added that in the first phase, Iran's railway in the
south will be connected to Iraqi nationwide railway through Hosseinieh station
near Khorramshahr. Iraq, he said, had agreed at the meeting to the construction
of a bridge on rvand river to facilitate Iranian train services to Iraq.
Hence, he added, Iranian trains would be able to go on to Basra, Iraq, after
passing Tanuma station, on their way to Baghdad. Rahmati said that once the
route becomes operational, Iranian and Iraqi railways would be connected to
each other from a point west of Iran and practically they will be linked
through two border points. He said the participants to the trilateral meeting
had also agreed on a joint venture project, that will be implemented by
Syria and Iraq to build the 147-km Albo Kamal-Dir
al-Zur road in Syria.
The "Last Jihad" is quickly coming. This is the Islamic invasion of Israel as

America today is paying the price of what it will cost for Christ to establish
His throne on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Let there be no mistake that the
events of this horrendous day are directly linked to the Temple Mount in
Jerusalem! God is shaking the world out of complacency. God is putting the focus
of the world on the Holy Land, Jerusalem, and the Temple Mount through these
events! There is going to be a frightful cost that will dwarf this day as God
forces His choice of King on this world of sin.
My heart goes out to all the victims.
The price is high! It will get even higher! The Lamb paid the price for sin -
Now we (the world) pay the price of rejecting His sacrifice. He is coming again,
but not to suffer and die again. He is coming as a conquering King who will
trample all the rebellious under His feet. It is time to submit no matter the
cost. It is time for righteousness to take back this world! There is a price for
righteousness! It will only be paid when Christ rules from the Temple Mount in
Jerusalem as King of the Jews.

Temple Mount in
Congress
Bill Seeks to Halt Construction
Congress is considering a
bill that would cut American aid to the Palestinian Authority until it stops
construction on Jerusalem's Temple Mount—construction that critics charge has
been destroying remains from the First and Second Temple periods.
The Temple Mount
Preservation Act was introduced in July by Republican Eric Cantor, who
represents the seventh district of Virginia. His bill would halt $200 million in
aid to the Palestinians this year.
Construction atop the
Temple Mount—the platform that once held the First and Second Temples and which
today holds the Al-Aqsa mosque and the Dome of the Rock—was begun in late 1999
by the Waqf, the Muslim religious council responsible for the mount, ostensibly
to enlarge an emergency exit for an underground mosque in the southeast corner
of the mount. Since then many truckloads of earth filled with ancient artifacts
have been hauled off the mount and much of the southeast corner has been paved
over. None of the work has been supervised by the Israel Antiquities Authority
(IAA), as required by Israeli law.
At a Capitol Hill press
conference at which he introduced his bill, Cantor charged that Yasser Arafat,
chairman of the Palestinian Authority, had barred Jews and Christians from the
Temple Mount and was bent on erasing Jewish or Christian connections to the
mount.
But Cantor's bill may be
misdirected. Recent discussions held by BAR with top IAA officials and
with members of the Committee for the Prevention of the Destruction of
Antiquities on the Temple Mount, who have been harshly critical of what they see
as the IAA's ineffectual response to the construction, made clear that the power
to preserve antiquities on the mount lies not with Arafat but with Israel.
Both right- and left-wing
governments in Israel have been loath to crack down on the construction for fear
of sparking riots and of scuttling negotiations with the Palestinians. "Israeli
law is not enforced on the Temple Mount," an IAA official confided.
The official also noted
that the impetus behind the construction came not from Yasser Arafat nor even
from Waqf officials, but from Raed Salah, the mayor of Umm el-Fahm, the second
largest Arab city in Israel, and the leader of the Islamic Movement in Israel.
Salah raised the funds for the work on the Temple Mount and brought in hundreds
of volunteers to carry it out. Similarly, the decision to bar non-Muslims from
the mount was made not by Arafat but by Israeli police out of concern for public
safety in the wake of the Palestinian uprising that began in September 2000.
It was clear from
discussions with IAA officials that they feel hamstrung. They are obligated by
law to oversee the work on the Temple Mount, but they are barred from the mount
by Israeli police. "Our role is to observe and to report, and the government has
to decide what to do," another IAA official said. He added that the construction
could easily have been stopped, but at a heavy cost in lives—50 Palestinian
rioters and 10 Israeli policemen, in his estimate.
This IAA official added
that the work on the Temple Mount had been slowed over the previous three months
because the Israeli government was not allowing construction materials onto the
mount. Archaeologist Eilat Mazar, a leading member of the Committee for the
Prevention of the Destruction of Antiquities on the Temple Mount, countered that
new construction materials were no longer needed. She produced a photo showing a
truck that had dumped ancient stone blocks near a stone-cutting saw. On the
other side of the photo were piles of smaller stone blocks, freshly cut from the
old blocks.
Mazar also produced two
aerial photos; the first was taken in November 1999, just before construction
began, while the second was taken in June of this year. Much of the southeast
corner of the Temple Mount has been greatly altered: Two arched doorways now
lead to the underground mosque, while much of the area leading to the entrances
has been cleared of trees and paved over.
The work on the Temple
Mount seems to be nearing completion, but what will Israel's government do if
construction begins in another area of the Temple Mount? Perhaps more important,
can Israel reverse the perception that it has ceded control of the mount?—S.F.
A lot of
Christians who understand the Bible, and know about the future glory coming to
Israel wonder how the Jews can treat the Temple Mount with such complacency? It
would seem to us that the compassion expressed for Jerusalem would be a thousand
times greater for the Temple Mount?
(Ps 137:6 "If I
do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer
not Jerusalem above my chief joy".) We must
remember that Israel is not saved yet. The love for the Temple Mount will not be
realized until the Jews desire that their Messiah set up His throne on that most
sacred place. The love will not come until the Jews look to Jesus as their
coming High Priest and King. The omnipotent God of the Bible is steadily putting
control over the Temple Mount in Jewish hands. It is all in preparation for the
future glory of Israel that will be realized when their Messiah returns. Until
then, the Temple Mount will only be as important as the politics of the day make
it.

"Bullseye," say Egyptians as they celebrate anti-US attacks
CAIRO, Sept 11 (AFP) -
Egyptian students, taxi
drivers and shopkeepers crowded round television sets stacked
up in electrical store windows in downtown Cairo Tuesday evening,
celebrating a string of
elaborate attacks on New York and Washington.
"Bullseye," commented two taxi drivers as they watched footage of
the twin towers of the World Trade Center in New York shrouded in
plumes of smoke after two presumably hijacked planes slammed into
them earlier in the day.
Another Egyptian man, Gawish Abdel Karim, told AFP he was
pleased with the wave of
violence in which another plane crashed into the Pentagon in
Washington, the heart of the US defence establishment.
"Nice work," said
Abdel Karim, who drives a car for an Asian embassy.
"The Americans have
forgotten that God exists. They have us by the throat and now
they find themselves in a science fiction film scenario, but this
time Rambo's not there to save the White House."
Anti-US sentiment has
mushroomed on the streets of Egypt and other Arab countries
over its widely-perceived support for Israel over the Palestinians
in the past 11 months of violence in the Middle East.

The jubilant cry from Gaza, Egypt and
other Islamic nations that God is
great (Allah Akbar) will come back to haunt them. The rejoicing will be short lived for all
of Islam. I agree the Americans have forgotten God exists, but these events
should bring the only God of the Bible back into prominence for this complacent
Christian nation. This attack on America will either drive Christ back into the
center of America's Christianity, or it will prove this complacency is really
apostasy. God is not only going to judge Islam, but He is going to test the
Christianity of this world - America in specific. The times are a changing! The
Church dispensation is coming to an end, and the glory of Israel is being

Thousands of Israelis missing near WTC, Pentagon
The Foreign Ministry in Jerusalem has so far received the names of
4,000 Israelis believed to
have been in the areas of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon at the
time of the attack.
The list is made up of people who have
not yet made contact with friends or
family, Army Radio reported.
Telephone connections between Israel and the New York City and Washington,
D.C. areas has been sporadic and unreliable since the multiple attacks
yesterday.
Ten thousand people are estimated to
have been killed in the New York attacks and another
800 in Washington.
Several hundred also went down with
the hijacked planes.

Let's be honest about Islam's
hate for the Jew!
Many voices in the Arab/Islamic world have already defended the
attacks as a justified response to
American
support for Israel.
As the US seeks to recover from this shocking event and to shape a proper
response in concert with Western, democratic states and other allies, the
Christian Embassy strongly urges that full attention be paid to the tenets and
mentality of Islamic fundamentalism.
This ascendant brand of Islam sees both
Israel and the West as an evil enemy, and
preaches
that all Muslims
must return to the basics of their faith in order to win the favor of their god
Allah, so they might defeat the Christian and Jewish [infidel] nations in jihad,
or holy war.
Thus, any step or measure at this time in which the US appears to distance
itself from its democratic ally Israel will be interpreted by Muslim extremists
as an achievement in their terror campaign. Rendering Israel and Jerusalem more
vulnerable will only encourage radical Muslims that their ambitions for world
conquest are one step closer.

PALESTINIANS CELEBRATE:
Shocked by the incredible loss of life, most
Arab leaders swiftly distanced
themselves from the terror rampage. PLO chief Yasser Arafat huddled his
top advisers in Gaza City to watch the events unfold on television, and later
emerged to tell reporters he was "completely shocked" by the scenes of
destruction. "It's unbelievable. We completely condemn this very dangerous
attack, and I convey my condolences to the American people," he stated.
Arafat invited media to watch him donate
blood today for the American terror victims. And not wanting to be seen
among extremists at this sensitive time, Arafat today postponed his long-awaited
trip to Syria, where several radical Palestinian terror factions have found safe
haven.
Interestingly, Syrian dictator Bashar Assad
today urged a
collective world effort to uproot terrorism, and even hard-line Iranian leaders
strongly condemned Tuesday's terror attacks in a rare show of sympathy for the
US.
This left the regime of Iraqi dictator
Saddam Hussein to toe the strident anti-Israel, anti-West line among top
Arab/Islamic leaders. An Iraqi TV commentator read an announcement over footage
of the explosions in New York that insisted:
"The American cowboy [a reference to
Bush] is reaping the fruits of his crimes against humanity. It is a black
day in the history of America, which is tasting the bitter defeat of its crimes
and disregard for peoples' will to lead a free, decent life."
These comments reflected better the mood
in the Arab street, and especially among the Palestinians. Throughout
Palestinian-ruled areas of Judea/Samaria and Gaza, in eastern Jerusalem and in
the refugee camps in Lebanon, thousands
of Arabs young and old began celebrating the attacks on US soil, taking to the
streets to dance, honk horns, wave flags, shoot rifles in the air and pass out
candy to children.
Though a few media slipped out with
pictures and film footage of the Palestinian rejoicing over the mass
deaths in America, other reporters and
cameramen had their life's threatened by uniformed Palestinian security officers
if they released images or filed stories on the jubilations. Reports indicate
one Palestinian photographer is being
held by Fatah Tanzim
gunmen in Ramallah
and have warned his employers he will be killed if they publish his photos of
the celebrations in that town.

said on Thursday the Taliban authorities had said they were ready to hand over
Osama bin Laden (news

if the United States could prove his guilt in the terror attacks on the U.S.
The British Broadcasting Corp said the report was picked up from Radio Voice
of Shari'ah of Balkh Province, Mazar-e Sharif.
It quoted the radio as saying: ``The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (news

web sites) (IEA) has honestly asked America to give clear and substantial
evidence for what it considers Osama to be responsible for, and the IEA will
hand him over to one of the Islamic courts of the world in order to be tried.''
The Islamic court is like Arafat giving
blood to the victims of the suicide bombers. Only the most gullible could
believe such gestures as genuine. Islam laughs at the stupidity of fair play by
it's enemies as Israel has so well learned. Now America must learn the same
lessons.
The real news is that Islam from the
North is now center in world events. The Gog of the North is being stirred by
world events. This is where Ezekiel says in chapters 38 & 39 the Last Jihad will
have it's beginning. Other nations such as Iraq from the East, and Libya from
the South will join the Islamic Gog of the North in a three pronged invasion of
Israel. I watch with anticipation as the Gog, the chief prince of old Russia,

Association protests PA threats to journalists

JERUSALEM (September 14) - The Foreign Press Association expressed deep
concern yesterday over life threats made to journalists by the Palestinian
Authority, after PA security personnel on Tuesday tried to prevent photo and
video coverage of a rally in Nablus where hundreds of Palestinians
celebrated the terror attacks in New York and Washington.

It is the Islamic Gog of the North that
has brought this day upon us! A day now acknowledged as more infamous then the
day Pearl Harbor was attacked. The Bible says the Lord Jesus Christ is coming
again! The Gog of the North has been prophesied almost 4000 years ago as the
great resistor to the return of the Jewish King of Kings to Jerusalem and the
Temple Mount. It is God who will take vengeance on the hate that has produced

Baptist style of phony Christianity prevalent today!

Palestinians rally for bin Laden
Hundreds of Palestinian members of Hamas demonstrated today in Gaza
City, in Ramallah, and the Nuseirat refugee camp in Jericho, Israel Radio
reported.
At the rallies in Gaza and Ramallah, demonstrators waved pictures of
terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden. Palestinian policemen seized
videotapes of the event taken by cameramen working for foreign networks
and ordered them not to film any further.

Noah's Ark landed on Mt. Ararat one of
the peaks of the Caucasus Mountains dividing old Russia and Turkey. A natural
divide between the North and the East of two of the four quarters of this world as we know it. The Gog are
associated with the North, and from the land of Magog as revealed in Ezekiel.

Magog is first mentioned in the Bible as
one of the grandsons of Noah who settled North of the Caucasus. Look in
the Bible maps section of your Bible where those early generations are listed as
settling. These maps are based on the oldest records available to the scholars
which record the expansion of the human races. See a map of the Genesis

These people are a future generation called
the Gog. Today, we know the Islamic part of the old USSR is fighting for
independence. Already many of the adjoining states along the Caucasus boarder
(the chief princes of old Russia) have declared their independence. The Gog are
coming together in our generation as the Islamic part of old Russia. Afghanistan
and the Taliban are taking the lead in a militant, Islamic, Fundamentalism that hates
Israel and American support of Israel. A Jewish Jerusalem and Temple Mount is
being opposed to the death by these fundamental Islamic's. A Jewish King of
Kings sitting on a throne on the Temple Mount is center to all that has happened
this past week. The Gog will never be still! The battle for the Temple Mount has
begun.
The Gog appear again in the book of
Revelation. At the end of the millennial reign of Christ as King of Kings.
Another generation will repeat what the Islamic Gog of our generation are about to
attempt. An invasion of Israel. They also will fail!

7And when the thousand years
are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison,
8And shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four

Today, the Gog in the land of Magog of our generation are
preparing for invasion. It will be
the last Jihad of Islam. It will, open the
door for the building of the Third Jewish Temple on the Temple Mount. It will be
a three pronged Islamic attack from the North, East, and South. Ezekiel recorded
the events which are now ready to be fulfilled. The battle for the Temple Mount
has come to America. The last Jihad and end of militant Islam recorded in Ezekiel 38 & 39 is now engaged!

JERUSALEM (September 17) - On the eve of Rosh Hashana, the nation's
population stands at
6.46 million, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported yesterday.
Deut 7:6-10

people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God

special people unto himself, above all people that are upon
the face of the earth.
7The LORD did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in

I think it significant that the first
event after the new year starts is the most holy day of the year - Yom Kippur -
so that both feast days flow into one.
This year may be the most significant since the establishment of the State of
Israel. It opens with war being declared by America on Islamic terrorism. It begins with
a militant Islamic Gog of the North challenging the world over a Jewish Jerusalem and Temple
Mount. In my estimation, the events setting the tone of this new year are significant
to Ezekiel 38 & 39 (a prophecy yet to find fulfillment). I see in the Bible how
the end of Islam can take place. A last Jihad must happen before a Third Jewish Temple
built on the Temple Mount could ever be accomplished. Militant Islam must end
before the Jewish Temple can be built! As this New Year begins, this year should be
brought in with Yom Kippur holiness more then others. This year begins with the
eyes of the world fixed on Jerusalem as never before. This year the
glory of the house of
David is taking a significant step forward!
The Conflict of Rosh Hashana

6In that day will I make the governors of Judah
like an hearth of fire among the wood, and like a torch of fire in a sheaf; and

Taliban Bring Scud Missiles Near Pakistan Border
KHYBER PASS, Pakistan
(Reuters) - Afghanistan (news

web sites)'s Taliban rulers have moved a large arsenal of weapons,
including Russian Scud missiles, to positions near the border with Pakistan,
a Pakistani army officer said Monday.
``We are already prepared, we are ready to defend the motherland,''
Captain Abid Bahtti told reporters, speaking at an army checkpoint just 2.5
km (one mile) from the border with Afghanistan. ``The Pakistan border is
very secure.''
Khyber
Pass,
mountain pass in western Asia, the most important pass connecting
Afghanistan and Pakistan, controlled by Pakistan. The Khyber Pass winds
northwest through the
Safed Koh near Peshawar, Pakistan, for about 48 km (about 30 mi) to
Kabul, Afghanistan, varying in width from 5 to 137 m (15 to 450 ft). The
mountains on either side can be climbed only in a few places. The pass is
walled by precipitous cliffs that vary in height from about 180 to 300 m
(about 600 to 1000 ft). The pass reaches its highest elevation (1,072
m/3,517 ft) at the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. For centuries
the Khyber Pass was used by invaders to enter India. During the Afghan Wars
the pass was the scene of numerous skirmishes between Anglo-Indian soldiers
and native Afghans. Particularly well known is the battle of January 1842,
in which about 16,000 British and Indian troops were killed. The British
constructed a road through the pass in 1879 and converted it into a highway
during the 1920s. A railroad was also built here in the 1920s.
The Khyber Pass is in the news again as
this first day of the Jewish New Year begins. In 1842, over 16.000 British and
Indian troops were slaughtered in a battle that gives the pass it's fame. In a
sense this is the back door to reaching the Gog of the North. This will be no
cake walk should the US attempt to reach the Taliban and Bin Laden via this
route. History repeating itself is a nightmare that should be contemplated. I
have no insight or idea how this war on terrorism by America will proceed. I do
know the Bible predicts an invasion of Israel by these Northern Islamic
militants which I believe are the Gog of Ezekiel 38 & 39. What a start for this
new year!

quintessential symbol of Rosh Hashana. Is it just a primitive trumpet? Or is
there a much greater story to be told? |
During the blowing of the shofar on Rosh Hashana, notice
there are three distinct sounds:
- Tekiah -- one long, straight blast Hear
the sound
- Shevarim -- three medium, wailing sounds Hear
the sound
- Teruah -- 9 quick blasts in short succession Hear
the sound
Let's examine each of these shofar sounds, and see how
they relate to the different themes of Rosh Hashana.
THE TEKIAH SOUND
Rosh Hashana is the day of appreciating who God is. We
then internalize that understanding so that it becomes a living, practical part
of our everyday reality. God is all-powerful. God is the Creator. God is the
Sustainer. God is the Supervisor. In short,
God is King of the Universe.
But for many of us,
the idea of a "king" conjures up
images of a greedy and power-hungry despot who wants to subjugate the masses for
his selfish aims.
In Jewish tradition,
a king is first and foremost a servant
of the people. His only concern is that the people live in happiness and
harmony. His decrees and laws are only
for the good of the people, not for himself. (see Maimonides, Laws of
Kings 2:6)
The object of
Rosh Hashana is to crown God as our King. Tekiah -- the long,
straight shofar blast -- is the sound of
the King's coronation. In the Garden of Eden, Adam's first act was to
proclaim God as King. And now, the
shofar proclaims to ourselves and to the world: God is our King. We set
our values straight and return to the reality of God as the One Who runs the
world... guiding history, moving mountains, and caring for each and every human
being individually and personally.
Maimonides adds one important qualification: It isn't
enough that God is MY King alone. If ALL humanity doesn't recognize
God as King, then there is
something lacking in my own relationship with God. Part of my love for the
Almighty is to help guide all people to an appreciation of Him. Of course this
is largely an expression of my deep caring for others. But it also affects my
own sense of God's all-encompassing
Kingship.
THE SHEVARIM SOUND
When we think about the year gone by, we know deep down
that we've failed to live up to our full
potential. In the coming year, we yearn not to waste that opportunity
ever again. The Kabbalists say that Shevarim -- three medium, wailing blasts --
is the sobbing cry of a Jewish heart --
yearning to connect, to grow, to achieve.
Every person has the
ability to change and be great.
This can be accomplished much faster than you ever dreamed of. The key is to
pray from the bottom of your heart and ask God for the ability to become great.
Don't let yourself be constrained by the past. You know you have enormous
potential.
At the moment the
shofar is blown, we cry out to God from the depths of our soul. This is
the moment -- when our souls stand before the Almighty without any barriers --
that we can truly let go.
THE TERUAH SOUND
On Rosh Hashana, we
need to wake up and be honest and
objective about our lives: Who we are, where we've been, and which
direction we're headed. The Teruah sound -- 9 quick blasts in short
succession -- resembles an alarm clock,
arousing us from our spiritual slumber.
The shofar brings clarity, alertness, and focus.
The Talmud says:
"When there's judgement from below, there's no need for judgement from above."
What this means is that if we take the time to construct a sincere, realistic
model of how we've fallen short in the past, and what we expect to change in the
future, then God doesn't need to "wake us up" to what we already know.
God wants us to make an honest effort to maximize the
gifts He gave us. You aren't expected to be anything you're not. But you can't
hoodwink God, either.
The reason we lose touch and make mistakes is because we
don't take the time everyday to reconnect with our deepest desires and essence.
The solution is to spend time alone everyday, asking: Am I on track? Am I
focused? Am I pursuing goals which will make the greatest overall difference in
my life and in the world?
Make it a habit to keep in touch with yourself, and when
Rosh Hashana comes around, the alarm clock of the shofar won't be nearly as
jarring!
The trumpet call is even more
significant this year as world events point to the soon return of the Jewish
King of Kings. Let us all be focused on just what God is doing this year. Change
is so clearly in the making! The end of the Church age, and the return of a soon
coming Biblical Israel. The Jews have returned to the promised Land, and control
of Jerusalem and the Temple Mount is forefront to all nations and religions. It
is not Rome! It is not Mecca! It is not the Ganges! It is a Jewish Jerusalem!
The trump sounding soon is the
anticipation of every born again, Bible believing Christian. We are ready to
step aside for the future glory of Israel! We step aside for the coming Jewish
King of Kings! We step aside in shame for the Apostate Christianity that we
leave behind is the greatest shame of the entire age. We must accept
responsibility! We are not being raptured for our victory, but rather for our
lukewarm ness.
There is still great joy in
anticipating being with the LORD forevermore. I'm ready!!! Are You???

The bin Laden of the North
Through his al-Qaida organization, bin Laden has become a central
figure in the growing multi-national configuration of
extremist Muslim terror groups,
providing finances and an ideological vision for expanding Islam by force to all
corners of the planet by the end of this century. One of bin Laden's top
priorities is driving US troops out of his native Saudi Arabia. His
influence reaches from the Abu Sayyaf
insurgency in the Philippines to Chechen and Albanian separatists, from the
slave traders of the Sudan to anti-Western tirades by imams in the mosques of
London and Detroit.
The Taliban of the North
TESTING THE TALIBAN:
It is clear that the massive and carefully coordinated operation last week,
involving over 50 terrorists -
including 19 suicide hijackers -
from an array of countries, was the work
of more than one group or state. How many Muslim regimes might eventually
be targeted for their involvement in this worst terrorist attack in history is
still uncertain, but Iraq, Iran and
Sudan are among the likeliest candidates.

US HATED AS MAIN OBSTACLE TO SPREAD OF ISLAM
The mass terror strikes in New York and Washington last Tuesday exposed for many
in the West the festering anti-American sentiments prevalent in the
Arab/Islamic world, including among
Palestinians and even Israeli Arabs, but most still do not know why.
Though a number of Arab/Islamic leaders
and press have condemned the horrendous terror attacks in the United States this
past week, there continues to be many public and vocal expressions of
outright joy over the enormous death
toll.
There are many reasons being cited for the
build-up of Arab and Islamic resentment
against the US, including: the UN sanctions and allied bombing raids in Iraq;
Washington's military and diplomatic support for Israel vis-a-vis the
Palestinians; US protection of corrupt pro-Western regimes in the region; and
the presence of "infidel" US troops on
the "holy soil" of Saudi Arabia.
Yet while these grievances are often raised by
Muslim fundamentalists as the
justification for their anti-US positions and actions,
the real root cause lies in Islamic theology
and its vision of world conquest.
Militant Muslim leaders view America as
the main impediment to their quest to spread Islam throughout the entire world
through jihad. Thus, the US is widely presented
as the "Great Satan" which must
be defeated in battle, and that this is an obligation of every Muslim.
